A report from the elusive Sharkbait!!! You know I’ve got a lot of those cranks…I need to head down!
Yes. you do need to head down. This bite is awesome. The last 2 trips has been nearly ten fish an hour even in the middle of the day….
August 3, 2011 at 2:22 pm #985890Brian.I dont see any pictures of you with a 20# wiper so you can’t give them to much crap.A wiper will still destroy more gear than your cats.
August 3, 2011 at 2:19 pm #985887Troll like you would for white bass.2.5-3.5 mph. We run about 130 feet back with 8#-12# trilene XL.Diving depth really changhes with higher speed and larger diameter line.Super lines are probably better but we go over flooded trees and stick a few lures there .
August 3, 2011 at 2:14 pm #985883Put in my notice here Monday night.Start new job as soon as my drug test comes back.Dont know what I will do with all my time working monday through friday 8-5..Might get to see what my boat looks like.
July 27, 2011 at 9:38 pm #984336Its been so long since my boat saw water that that they werent even born when i saw the last screen on the fish finder.
July 10, 2011 at 2:34 pm #979572Looks like a baby loch ness monster..Bet if you stretched him out he would be a lot longer…lol
June 4, 2011 at 6:12 pm #971006the eyes are right where they are supposed to be right now Brian…..Kansas
April 26, 2011 at 11:11 pm #960922Save a lot of trouble.cook a few fish. Let all the rest go have a blast practicing catch and release and don’t worry about it.
March 8, 2011 at 9:21 pm #945190I don’t know alot about sauger but had always been told that they prefer a dirtier environment and more flow than a walleye does. Not sure if it’s true but we can’t get that many really big eyes in the Kansas lakes but the Saugeye really do well in the dirty water in our western lakes and they are a hybrid of eyes and sauger that are stocked.

It’s all a bunch of bs.I have the same email that started this laying on the desk right now.Amazing how fast this stuff spreads. We just had the state licensing inspector in here last week and discussed all the great theories people have and even the idea of dancing with the hose isn’t supposed to work with the design of the pumps. My system here is a little bigger that a gas system.4 inch pump on ours but he says they are all set the same when he calibrates and checks calibration on them.
so are you telling me when I pump gas on super speed like I heard the gas does not go out faster then the “money meter” can add so I don’t save money? and that the “suckers” that pump there gas slow get over charged?
I wish it worked that way. Man it wouldbe great to pull in with the boat and tahoe.run the pump full speed and get a couple extra gallons for free. In reality they have to be less that .5% variance at all conditions in Kansas at least to be a legal pump. Not sure that is the exact number but it is close.Similar to a scale has to weigh accurate .Our commercially legal scales that go to 100000 lbs can only be rated to sell in 20 lbs break point for accuracy because of the percent accuracy they rate at.

March 7, 2011 at 9:11 pm #944864You can say that again Calvin..After spending years fishing every free minute I had I made the leap to guide part time after checking out everything. It is a whole different world when you guide. All the extra stress of having to make things happen.Making sure everything is safe for people that arent on boats all the time and the people that can’t enjoy a day on the water.I loved and hated almost every minute of it for eight years and was glad I still had a full time job to pay the bills and not have to depend on it.But a great learning experience for me.
February 4, 2011 at 8:46 pm #933865I was just out last week looking at open water and checking batteries. This week 8 inches of ice and 35 below wind chill.Have the faith though
November 26, 2010 at 8:44 pm #912520When we came back to Kansas from Racine last summer thay would not allow any water/Ice in the checked bags.We used a small cooler with the frozen fillets in them and got by fine.
November 26, 2010 at 8:41 pm #912519I used mine and it did good enough till I upgraded.Only problem I had was on trolling speeds alot of the car gps blank out the speed to zero around 1-1.5 mph.But other than that alot better than Nothing.
August 30, 2010 at 10:20 pm #896603could of been an ouch…Years ago I stepped over a rock and caught a rapala in the tendon in the back of my knee…Looks like the sandles are a better way to collect lures
August 24, 2010 at 2:06 am #895155I am just waiting for the same mess down here.White perch are moving across eastern ks..They are illegal to possess live for any reason.Next thing you know we wont be able to cast net shad because they are so worried about the perch. The thing is live shad are the best bait for Big Wipers and Stripers even when they wont take a crank or other artificial lure
August 22, 2010 at 9:08 pm #894914Shorty rods seem to attract them..Out of six rods we usually run it seems like 70-80 percent of the flatheads we catch are on the 2 shortys.Guys u ought to try some fat free shads inyour spread if you have been finding the flatheads they really seem to like them..And the big walleyes find them to.
August 22, 2010 at 6:08 pm #894890Brian THEY SUCK… I am not sure if I have caught a decent fish on one yet.My best walleye ever a 13 lb 4 oz one was on a thunderstick though..The old style plastic ones .
August 18, 2010 at 5:59 pm #894250Poast will kill all grasses but not affect any broadleaf. It has no residual so you will have to respray. Also anything that has clethedim as an active ingrediant is the same way.No residual..Dont get any on grass that you want to keep..It will kill any grass…Watch out for the commercial “grass killers” alot of the have roundup or similar products that kill broadleaves also..
August 14, 2010 at 1:08 am #893276I was there this week and there is a bite really hit and miss though. One day guys had several bites next slow as hell. One of my employees got a ten and a half pounder that was 30 inches long…
August 2, 2010 at 1:47 am #890339I had a great one years ago that peaved me to no end.I was speeding.not going to argue that was running 8 mph over on an empty highway.. saw a single light coming at me and didnt slow down then got the joy of getting pulled over by a Kansas Highway patrol officer with a head light out.Mentioned it to him and his response was that it had worked when he went on shift…Now theres some bs. there.
August 1, 2010 at 7:10 pm #890294In Kansas just across the border it seems like things start early to mid july good and progressively gets better till around labor day then just slowly fades through fall depending on the fall weather..A couple years ago we had some wipers on top in Norton mid October with a mild fall.
July 27, 2010 at 12:59 am #889265Ya Brian I know what you are saying there. If you here about it it was probably me..If I here about it it was probably you…
