it is inherent to have that problem because of the prop. if you still have the steering comp tab (cant think of the real name) on the transome loosen with a wrench and turn it one way or the other to help. if you dont have that maybe some one else has a better idea.

i prefer the dt-7 with the square lip. i know it changes the number but dont remember how.
September 25, 2007 at 1:32 am #610821the hardest part of fishing muskies for me has been to do nothing but the same. i say this in a commical way. i have lost more fish trying to get the strike than if i do nothing but what i did to get there attention. i do not skip the figuer 8 at the boat though.
i have had plenty of luck just realling in and not trying to concentrate on the follow.
fish are obviously interested in what you did before they showed them selves or you would not see them.muskies are like women at the bar…. dont let them know you are interested until you set the hook.
August 7, 2007 at 12:33 am #597581i hate to be the the bearer of bad news but it is going to continue like that forever. next time your out and somthing works go directly to the store you bought them at and clear them out!!!!!
i have had the same problem as you.
July 18, 2007 at 2:16 am #591362i believe that you are right in saying that there are some major subsidies going on. how much does the war in iraq and us not bombing the hell out of the rest of the sand countries costing you. and as a side note the last time i checked crude oil was down, how much i am not sure what the top price was, but i am pretty sure it is around at least $15-20 a barrel. if i am wrong i will buy two gallons and burn it in my yard tomarrow.
July 18, 2007 at 2:12 am #591358I am about as political as a fish. i think that if there is a way for me to give my money to americans then i will. i believe that farmers, given the choice will buy soy diesel at a competitive price to straight diesel. they grow it and since they spread manure and buy milk will use what they can to help them selves and our country. is corn the answer, maybe not but as what was mentioned earlier how many millions of acres sit idle in set aside. money the government gives to people to not grow anything but weeds.
in my opinion farms are what made the country strong and will do it again. maybe we need to grow or learn to grow plants that have a higher sugar content. the countries that are making this bio change realistic are doing so on other than corn. they are uses sugar cane and other high sugar plants.
anyway before i get crazy, i just think that if you depend on anyone, even those you know, you are doomed to fail.July 15, 2007 at 9:51 pm #590461in my opion it all depends on the color and time of year. but i fish them a couple of ways. in sand make it hit the bottom and kinda drag it like a fish searching for food with a pause here and there. wingdams i bouce it off of the rocks or swim it right over the top. the hit usually comes in the pause of the bounce or the break of fast to slow water. the fish will let you know which they want. weeds are hard and if you dont have confidence in the trap you will be frustrated, but skim the top with a steady retriev. yes you will do a lot of cleaning of the lure. and if you dont clean it will not work right. the last and most expensive way is to drag the bottom. real slow retriev that gets you snagged a lot but i find works on slow bites. be careful of that snag it may be a fish.
anyway like i said this is in my opinion and i dont use traps exclusively either. hope it helps.July 14, 2007 at 2:02 am #590129personally i have a couple zip ties, a cresent wrench,a vice grips, a set of screw driver bits that include drivers up to 9/16 and the metric counter part ( they come in a nice blow molded box), electrical tape and then of course the hook pliers will always double for any trouble you may have. the spare fuses and shear pins and the like are model specific. all in all it fits in a 1 foot x 5 inch hole.
in my opinion if it requires more than that to get you to to the landing your in some deep doo-doo.July 12, 2007 at 1:27 am #589300just like a paca craw tube but a solid body. i have had a little luck with them but the color selection here in lacrosse sucks. they have the norms watermelon and the like but i think power bait has better.
July 12, 2007 at 1:22 am #589298labs seem to want anything that flys. mine almost died. she is alergic to them. now i have a military bee sting injector ready for the next time.
June 6, 2007 at 12:03 am #578151Guy you might want to talk to is AmWatson. he used to kill tose things for a living. he has the name of some good poisons that work great.
May 9, 2007 at 1:49 am #569305i would check the batteries out first. take the boat to an Advanced or the like and have them load tested. then check to see what voltage is being put out on the charger. they should be similar. i think 13vdc or so, but dont quote me. your charger should have a book that would tell you what it should output.
May 5, 2007 at 12:32 am #568094read the owners manual there is a way to turn it off. you will have to use the remote i believe.
April 26, 2007 at 1:40 am #564849for the hard baits i find it at tackle warehouse(if not locally found). other wise i usually just go to the manufacturers web of the plastics i am looking for. as far as jigs you know were i get mine only hand tied will do.
April 24, 2007 at 11:47 pm #336182First get a bottle of holy water, a priest, and a witch doctor. Dump the holy water on the reels. Confess your sins of forgeting you own a thumb to the priest. then fill the holy water bottle with your favorite alcoholic beverage and get drunk with the witch doctor and have him put some vodoo on the line companies for making line so expensive. Then tomarrow in a haze of a hang over cut the line off and buy more. REPEAT UNTIL WINTER
April 24, 2007 at 11:15 pm #402834I would have to agree that top water is the most dramatic and exciting way to catch bass. It doesnt matter what your top water trick is. It is exciting to see a bruiser break through to our world to get a bite at something.
My next favorite is running jigs on the rocks or bottom. That first bump that may or may not be a fish. The tention in the air and on the line when you set the hook and the fight in a fairly clear area as he makes his run for cover or current.
Yep, i need to go fishing. See ya on the water tomorrow.April 22, 2007 at 2:26 am #563281Quote:
I am pretty impressed that you guys brought in a limit with all the stuff you guys dealt with today. Many people would have put the boat on the trailer and said the heck with it
How does your face feel? Mine feels like somebody took some sandpaper and rubbed it across my face and then threw gas on me and lit it with a match
Not as bad as yours. Trolling motors dont increase the wind burn that much. We were in “wind hide mode” all day, but not by choice.
April 22, 2007 at 1:43 am #563267Hey, who does your photography work??? It looks like a real pro. Nice job today guys. My partner and i had a little bit of a tough time today, but it was still fun. Except for that spun prop at 9am and then running out of trolling motor. I do have to say those were the nicest fish of the day though. Congrats on the big fish win
April 19, 2007 at 2:54 am #562388that was the last decent size fish on that lake…. next time let her be until after the tourney……
April 19, 2007 at 1:00 am #562317i know that technology has came a long way. but is you run a 2 stroke down that far it cant be good. as much as i have read and know is that they are good for high rpms and small power bands. it may be a good way to a short lived motor. i think the kicker is the way to go. i have never had a 2 stroke idle for a damn after a year or two and that is with a 900 plus idle. but like i said technology is great.
April 17, 2007 at 3:30 am #561533if you run the mid grad fuel with the grain in it then i dont think you will not need it. also you need to keep your tank 3/4 full to keep condinsation to a minimum. but if you still feel that it is a must, mounting instructions per manufacturer should come with each unit.
April 17, 2007 at 2:16 am #561499well, the normal spots produced crap for me today. maybe you have a couple of hot spots but i think the water temp rising so quickly today turned the afternoon bite off. went from 53 to 60 over the day on surface temp. early bite was all right but down hill from there. jigs (every kind), rattle traps and jerks, i tried them all. I am sure someone had better luck. Maybe they can help.
April 17, 2007 at 12:22 am #561424it can eat a seal in minutes. the main reason to check it is that it can eat into the shaft. even if it is stainless or chrome plated it will be eaten away quickly. the best is to remove the prop and check the shaft and seal for mono. you may need to remove a couple of pieces but the check is worth it. the easiest way to see where the seal is is to check mercury on line and look at the parts explosion for your motor.
April 13, 2007 at 1:28 am #560245if it is mainly pics and videos then i would put them on cd and go from there. it is easier to share that way and you dont have to worry as much as a hard drive.
April 11, 2007 at 12:33 am #559322I think it is a good time to get you eyes checked…….or get your bow and a spotlight

April 8, 2007 at 12:38 am #558417there are quite a few web sites out there that have prop calculators. put in the info and it tells you what type of prop would be best for your motor and boat. i would check a couple of them out. personally i dont think you would need to go down a prop size, i beleive you may be able to go up. the cuping makes the blade run easier in the water.
