    Check these out:

They have 50 grams of Thermadex insulation. Seem to be twice as warm as thinsulate. I have fished with these and the paired jacket in single digits without a shack and been plenty warm. The wind doesn’t make it through these at all. And they even FLOAT! They even work spring and fall with less layers. If you layer properly under your gear they will all work. The main thing is to stay dry either from not sweating or having waterproof gear.

    Ditto….

I was also in the not totaly impressed when I got mine when they were released, took 4-5 trips with it but now I cant imagine going back to a mechanical flasher…Takes a bit of time to get it set up to your likings and even with the intial bugs it was nothing an update didnt fix… I like the fact that my first year unit can be as up to date as one sold today….Also took awhile to get used to my HDS units when I went to those, just a learning curve…

My XT 650 will take 40 mph easily back to the wind and hooked to the ATV, think it would have been fine even without all the braces….

You can run 2 days if in a shack with backlight turned down to 5-10%, only time you really even need to turn it up is when outside…

Otter Cabin? I have the 650 and love it friends run the 1200 and it’s even nicer….Not sure on the cabins size though… Pulled my lodge around by hand in the new 3″ of snow and surprised how easy it drags, better than my Clam Kenai…

My 6061’s have landed many crappies up to 14.5 easily and bass over 4 pounds, landed a 19 3/4″ largemouth on my Okuma SLV 2/3 without issues to…All in how you have your stuff set up…. Some will always prefer a spinning reel some of us prefer the new style inlines line the 6061’s and Teardrops even with their cost….

I use my inlines down to 50′ for perch, they drop faster than most my spinning reels. If your going deeper than 12-15′ get one with a free spool and not the 1:1 gearing got with a multiplier… I also use them for crappies and walleyes, they work great…

I’m all for inlines I run 4, as far as the balance issue there isnt one…I run 6061’s and Teardrops and use them for everything except deadsticking and sight fishing….Deadstick still has a spinning reel sight rod sports afly reel…I have 1 more inline to add to complete the swap from sinning reels, problem is what one to get…..

Plastics here 99% for crappies and gills, still use spikes on tough bite perch….

Crappie lake I fish in MN I never take livebait, plastics only….Also gills around home and alot of perch fishing is all plastics…Only tip with livebait for perch and eyes, even eyes will eat plastics….

I have used barrel swivel before and the money not a big issue for me. Just try to find a good reel to get down to perch quick in that 20 to 40 foot of water.

6061 works great for this, as fast or faster on the drop than even my Shimanos….
