The gen 3 must be new 2023 or 2024. I had a 2022 ulterra and sold my boat this past January. On my new boat I just purchased I had another ulterra installed(non quest) and to my surprise the remote is totally differant. I was told my new ulterra has all the electrical updates the quest has? What ever they are. Does anyone know what they maybe?

I’ve owned a couple 3/4 ton duramax trucks, and in 1/2 toms I’ve had a Ram eco diesel, chevy 3.0 diesel, chevy 6.2 and several ford 3.5 ecoboosts.

Any of those power plants will pull what you have. Any 1/2 ton these day will squat pulling your enclosed trailer for sure. The 3/4 or 1 tons will pull and handle anything you have. I think you need to decide how often you pull the heavier loads. If most the time your pulling the 17ft boat go 1/2ton.
For pulling heres how I would rate them.
    1. Any 3/4 ton diesel
    2. chevy 3.0 diesel
    3. tie between chevy 6.2 and ford 3.5
    4. Ram

Before Covid Boat prices where lower. Then Covid hits, supply chain issues, goverment printing money inflation out of control. The price of everything increased greatly. Now inflation is coming down, supply chain is improving but prices are slow to fall. All prices, Boat prices, food prices, gas prices, home prices and so on, could fall if, government quit spending,to curb inflation and people slow spending. Think that will happen? Likely not.

I had a Ram 3.0 eco. Truck ram well got 25 mpg on the highway. I have also owned a 2020 chevy 3.o diesel. The chevy got better mileage and had more power.

I have a Alumacraft 165 Navigator tiller. I have a 55# thrust MinnKota auto pilot. I have 2 group 29 deep cycle batteries in parallel. I never have run out of battery with this set up. I am interested in this post as I’m considering upgrading to a 55# or 80# Terrova trolling motor for the spot lock feature.

So those who have a 80# thrust trolling motor, on a normal day how long do your batteries last before you run out of juice?

I could buy the 55# terrova and run it in parallel with the two batteries and basically have what I have today. I’m on the fence if I need the additional thrust considering the run time will be reduced.

First thing I would do is have your batteries load tested. It’s possible the one battery is bad. Your trolling motor and chargers sound like they are wired correctly. My thoughts are if one battery is bad it may not take a charge and the on board charger wont charge because it’s dead or bad?

I unload a 21 foot glass boat by myself all the time. This is my process.
I attach a 20 foot rope to my front cleat on the bow. I back down to the waters edge, just able to keep my feet dry and unhook safety chain and winch strap. I then take the attached rope and walk down the dock and tie it to the dock cleat. I then finish backing (slowly) into the water until my boat floats off trailer. I then put my truck in park and walk down the dock to grap my attached rope and pull the boat up to the dock and tie it to the dock. Park the truck and walk down ramp get in the boat start it up, unhook rope from dock and drive away. Works well

I lost 140 pounds over 9 months on the Sanford Profile diet. http://www.profileplan.com I would drink 4 protein shakes a day with a low carb diet. That was 5 years ago. I have regained 40 pounds but overall that diet worked for me. I see the nearest profile location for you is in Maple Grove.

Looks like it froze. Maybe that battery had a bad cell allowing it to freeze.

You could up size like others have suggested. One other option providing you have over a 1/2 of internal thread is to simply drill out the damaged threads with a 3/8 bit. (For maximum bolt strength you need 1 1/2 of your thread diameter in length.) This assumes your existing bolts are in good shape.

I had a 2021 Chevy 3.0 and pulled a Ranger 621. The motor is great. Empty 26 to 30mph often. Pulling my boat 10 to 15mpg. Inow own a 2022 Ram 3.0 eco diesel. The reason I bought my Ramis suspension on the gm was terrible. My ram has air suspension and it has a great ride and my truck doesn’t squad like my checvy did. My Ram doesn’t have the performance the chevy did. I get slightly lower mpg empty 24 to 28 and pulling 10 to 14.

i am currently thinking of buying a ford powerboost. Besides diesel cost you may want to consider cost of service, def, and winter additives. as far as the chevy 3.0 diesel great motor and performs well.

I did this and the dealership I purchased my 5th wheel from had a local welding shop in Siouxfalls weld mine. The dealership insisted I knew 350 max tongue weight. I will say my tongue weight was heavier than that. I didn’t tow in tandem very often. 5th wheel frames aren’t very heavy and most are not to made to handle the additional load.

I no longer have mine but thought I’d pass on my experience.
