I was the only other rig at Everts. Sounds like we should have hung around in the snow for a bit.

That settles it then. I’m hooking up the rig and coming down. See you boys in a bit.
June 10, 2011 at 9:56 am #972352Please do keep us posted as to what happens. It is very frustrating when you spend this kind of money and stuff wont work. Nothing worse than a day on the water irritated with your equipment!
May 19, 2011 at 11:42 am #967110I’m trying to think how if the low pressure pumps are bad could it load up on fuel. If a fuel pump is not working it wouldn’t be getting enough fuel instead of to much. Unless I’m missing something I don’t think that’s my issue. Was there any other reason’s you decided to change the LP fuel pumps? Thanks for the help!
April 29, 2011 at 11:28 pm #962007Just got a new interlink via FedEx. I open the box and see two wires with big black pucks on them. Cable Chokes? What the heck do these things accomplish and do I really need them?
April 24, 2011 at 12:22 pm #960100The boat we have been talking about in this thread is my partners boat. On my boat I have 798ci HD SI (bow) and a 898c SI (dash). I see the ethernet hook up on the 898c SI but where does it hook up to the 798ci HD SI? Also how much better is the network if I convert to a ethernet cable from an interlink?
April 24, 2011 at 3:04 am #960078One day I’ll have boat new enough that I have to break in the motor. I have to admit I’m slightly jealous. I cant think of a better way to spend some time on Easter day.
I have another question for you, I heard that I may be able to use a ethernet cable. Will it work with the 798c or only the new model 798 HD?
Happy Easter!
April 24, 2011 at 1:35 am #960061Hey Gregg,
Wow talk about customer service, you guys are the best. I have the 798c on its own GR50 GPS Receiver and the 898 is also on it’s own GR50. I sat in the boat with the laptop and installed the latest updates in each unit, still no success. I’m interested in resetting the interlink. By that do you mean I can delete the interlink’s software and reboot/restore it? The 898 said it reprogrammed the interlink during initial start up. Can I do that again, if so how? I hope this helps you help me.
Thanks
P.S. Do you guys have any used interlinks around I can try out if it comes to that? Also I’ll be on Wissota chasing a Crappie for a while if Easter gets to be to much for you tomorrow.
April 23, 2011 at 10:42 pm #960034I tried the Skeeter Boat Center twice today but they must be closed for the Holiday. Its irritating because I was there yesterday getting filters. I have a 798 (bow) and a 898 (dash) so the ethernet cable is out of the question, at least I think. I hope they have a used interlink around there so I can try it out and make sure its the problem.
April 23, 2011 at 9:32 pm #960018That’s not what I was wanting to hear but I’m thinking the same thing. Sucks that the warranty is over on this one. Is it a 1 year warranty?

March 3, 2011 at 11:31 pm #913513Well Randy, it’s looking like there isn’t going to be any takers to this thread.
March 1, 2011 at 10:22 pm #942705I agree, more than anything I’m looking to expand my thought process and critical thinking skills while on the water and before I get to the water. A day on the lake format as far as river fishing is concerned is is a great idea, lets just not limit it to only rivers.
February 28, 2011 at 7:12 pm #942358Your right, what I should have said is “I cant say I always agree with this statement.” As an example take pool 4 of the Mississippi river by the Red Wing Dam, crowds of people fish there. Not to say they don’t catch anything, but there is other places to catch fish near there that hardly see an angler. I do agree that there is a lot that can be learned from the crowds.
February 28, 2011 at 5:19 pm #942307Thanks again guys for all the info. It got me thinking so I decided to start another thread regarding water body research as it relates to the art of finding fish. Check it out and if you want post your suggestions.
February 27, 2011 at 9:12 pm #942039As far as locators marking fish goes here’s proof that my locator will do it. These are pictures of smallmouth when I was prefishing for a tournament on Lake Tomahawk in Minocqua, WI. The little girl is my Nice. Getting these fish to bite for three tournament day’s was a whole different matter.
February 27, 2011 at 5:20 pm #941980Outstanding post Randy!!! That’s more along the lines of what I’m after. Reading the thought process of how an angler successfully attacks things is what gets me thinking and pointed in the right direction. Thanks!

That 998 once you get it installed, set up and using it I can guarantee you will never not have SI.
I have had a 797 for 4 years now but I think I’m missing things that I hope the 998 will pick up. Anyhow, thanks for all the reply’s so far. As for me on the Mississippi I target walleyes from February until I can get in the back waters and target smallmouth and largmouth. From there it off to flowages and natural lakes. The art of finding these species of fish is what I’m most interested in.
Thanks again guys,

February 26, 2011 at 8:04 pm #941793I’m interested in locator talk as well. I’m going to be getting a 998 in a week or so but is this what I should get?
February 25, 2011 at 2:18 am #941303I’ve had this net for 4 years and have no complaints. I tournament bass fish and it gets banged around quite a bit. I love that in a few seconds I can store it in my rod box out of my way. Its called ZipNet, here is some pictures and a video of it. http://secure.smilebox.com/ecom/openTheBox?sendevent=4d5441334f5449314d773d3d0a&campaign=blog_playback_link
February 19, 2011 at 2:43 am #939124We caught her with 8 pound line a 1/4 mile down river of the hwy 61 bridge on the Wisconsin side of pool 4. We never weighed her as my scale only goes up to 50 pounds and I figure she was heavier than that. We are wondering if you may know how old she is. It would be fun to catch her again this year.
February 19, 2011 at 1:26 am #939104What happens on your unit if you have cribs marked on a few lakes. Say you have C1, C2, and C3 on lake X and you also have C1, C2 and C3 on lake Y. My unit will not allow this without deleting one waypoint and replacing it with the other, or it adds a (001) to the name. I wish it was that easy.
February 17, 2011 at 3:04 am #938253I have Humminbird units on the boat. I have used Humminbird PC but no map in the software makes it hard for me to operate. I also use Lakemasters Contour Pro and Navionics Navplanner 2. What I really wish is that the locator it self had a much faster and better management system built into it. All this data transfer stuff and renaming waypoints makes for a mountain of work when I just want to be fishing. Add to that a tournament partners prefishing waypoints and things get interesting.
I like to predict waypoints by looking at the Lakemaster and Navionics maps but that adds even more mess to the process. Do the 2011 locators have a better system built in? Mine are four years old.
