How does a 4 pound carp sucker have a 21 inch girth?
Obviously a typo. I know of the fish and it’s more than legit.May 19, 2014 at 2:05 pm #1411192Found one lil’ bugger in minneapolis last week. Checked a bit around Milaca this weekend.. Nothing doing in spots from last year yet. Buddies have been doing well around Minnesota River Just south.
May 19, 2014 at 12:56 pm #1411166Super cool! Congrats on your first. There will be many, many more to come. I can feel your excitement though your post. Just wait what happens when that first Muskie is sighted, caught, follows. Feel free to send a PM. I’d be more than willing to get you on the water in search of mr. Northern pikes bigger cousin.
May 16, 2014 at 6:33 pm #1410848Walleyes are shallow right now as well. Stick to under 10ft.Look at a map, find the structure. Gravel with nearby weeds is the key right now..Points, inside turns, etc. Get out there and you will find the spot on the spot.
May 8, 2014 at 3:34 pm #1409374That is a true giant for Rice Creek. I’ve only seen a couple in the last 15 years that barely broke the 20Lb. Mark. I’d love to see a photo as well!
May 6, 2014 at 8:58 pm #1408881Seen lots of photos of guys with multiple bass in hand during spawn and pre- spawn. Taking these fish off beds, putting them in live wells, etc.
May 6, 2014 at 8:55 pm #1408880Way to go Rootski! That’s awesome… Even more awesome that you respected the resource.
May 1, 2014 at 12:40 pm #1407758Hidden Falls park will get you right down to the river below the dam on the St. Paul side. You can fish the shore from there up to the dam with no issues. There’s an inlet just upstream from the park that can hold lots of fish in high water conditions.
April 29, 2014 at 7:55 pm #1407146Any certain lakes in mind? Still ice on most. Some flow ages are just opening up.
April 25, 2014 at 9:32 am #1406230Couple from a week or so ago. Haven’t tried since then. They should be going bonkers very shortly.
April 23, 2014 at 6:27 pm #1405809Yep. This weekend. Some stuff is going on Friday..Saturday everything kicks off at 8:00 AM. Loads of great seminar speakers as well throughout the day.
April 19, 2014 at 8:55 pm #1405131I have a 2005 Dodge Ram that does the same thing occasionally. Mine is just the oil pressure sensor. Not a big deal… Perhaps a big deal if your oil pump is not working. Check the fuse. Otherwise check the code. If it is in fact just the sensor. Just get it replaced whenever.
April 15, 2014 at 5:01 pm #1404399Magnum rapala and jitterbug on top post. As said above.. Just use them. They actually are not old lures.

Congrats! Sounds fun.April 8, 2014 at 7:01 am #1402585It’s open as of a few days ago. Haven’t been down there yet though.
April 3, 2014 at 12:52 pm #1401555I actually just retired from the screen printing game after 20 plus years. Sold the shop a few weeks ago. The new owner can help you out. [email protected]. Or you can call him 612-676-0488.
March 5, 2014 at 7:18 pm #1394228X2 on Hayward area. Not as busy as Brainerd area lakes. Lots of smaller lakes to hide from the crowds, and as mentioned above, the Namekagon cannot be beat! Wether it’s tubing, renting canoes, etc. the fishing on the river is also amazing!!
March 5, 2014 at 7:06 pm #1394222This topic hits home. My girlfriend gained herself a one of those stalking fellas a while back. Not a mentally unstable one by any means, but a stalking personality nonetheless. Funny thing is I was actually partially responsible for their introduction. I had no issues till said person started doing background checks on her, me, and her fathers son. From there it got creepy. Dude buying her earrings, contacting her place of employment when she wouldn’t return calls, etc. even contacted her mother fishing for information and making up stories about her. In general, just making excuses to see her as if he couldn’t get enough. My girlfriend thought he was harmless, as did I… Until he started meddling in her work life and personal life. Eventually she got the clue once she realized what this person was saying and doing behind her back. Needless to say, he is gone and all is good. Not an extreme case like the one you mention. I wish your friend the best in resolving this issue. Lots of creeps out there.
March 5, 2014 at 8:37 am #1393932I have a complete Otter Wilderness walleye? That I’d part with for $75.00 if interested.
March 4, 2014 at 10:09 am #1393628Stil here… Might be June before water opens if this winter keeps going the way it has. Early season I usually use a combo of crawlers/ waxworms and corn. They seem to like a little protein in early and late seasons. I’d steer clear of braids unless using a fairly long mono/floor leader. Slip sinker set ups usually work best as fish can take some line without feeling resistance. They can be picky buggers at times, although carp fishing is probably one of the simplest and in my mind, most enjoyable species to chase. Can’t wait!!
February 20, 2014 at 1:05 pm #1390243Wow!!!
Saw that this morning as well. Crazy fish and cool story!February 19, 2014 at 6:58 pm #13900352nd the pulled pork option. Throw a big ol’ pork roast in slow cooker with onions, peppers, and spices. Cook it in a 1/3 mixture of beer, orange juice, and soy sauce. Shred it up once done .. Serve it in tacos and sangwiiiiches both. Make some pico for tacos on fresh corn tortillas. Some. BBQ aside for sammiches. A nice side of slaw goes with both perfectly.
