This is Randy Here, Jeremy is fishing the Full Throttle. I have had a FFL and a liquor license at the same location for years in the past without a bit of trouble. Let me warn you though, I have been retailing sporting goods for over 20 years now and its not a picnic. Long hrs and low pay are the norm. You should have enough money to stay afloat for at least 3 years when you start. It will take that long to get established. Every one thinks they are the exeption but don’t fall for it your not! That being said, its also the best job I,ve ever had. Do all your research and keep your eyes open. Be realistic and you should be all right. Let me know if you have any questions I could help with. By the way we have 2 bait tanks we have been thinking about selling. Also have a set of home made tanks that would work for starting out. for sale cheap. Send us a pm if your interested

February 21, 2012 at 3:03 pm #1041328Thought I needed to fill you in. buffalo city shiners come off the same truck ours do and they are sorted. What you are paying $7.00 for are medium shiners that we sell for $6.50 and we have 2 sizes larger than that.
FYI. Buffalo City charges $7 for a dz shiners and they are not sorted. Very nice shiners for the money.
February 21, 2012 at 12:24 pm #1041251sorry you missed us at Alma. Our winter hrs are 6:30am to 4:00 pm. starting March 1 we switch to 5:30am to 6:30 pm. If your on the road and are going to be a little late call us at 608-685-4336 and we can usually wait for you.
February 16, 2012 at 12:45 pm #1039601I used to sell smoked pork and turkey legs at music festivals. also did hog roasts for banquets, weddings, graduations, e.t.c. If you have a good product you can stay as busy as you want. Find yourself a small cafe who will let you use their kitchen for your licensed food prep area. it will save trouble in the end. We set up our own trailer for a lot less money than you can buy one. If you go with the BBQ have some easy side dishes like cole slaw, chips, pickles e.t.c then you can charge for a meal instead of a sandwich without adding a lot of cost. seet corn in season is easy to do and is wildly popular. if you want to ask some questions send me a pm Good luck!

October 9, 2011 at 12:58 pm #1000178Looks like a good day on the water guys. Care to share any details with us?
October 4, 2011 at 4:20 pm #999028Schreiners Sport Shop is at the same location but is an all new shop. we are open from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm. phone is 608-685-4336. Pan fishing has been great the past few weeks with lots of gills and some crappie and perch to boot. Seems like the gills are moving off the wing dams and onto the wood. perch have been caught on weed lines shallower than you would think. bass fishing has been good with one of the employees and his partner having a 100 fish day last week. Walleyes have been spotty at best. Think the water temp needs to come down some more. Hope this helps you out.

Today is the day I’ve set aside to be kind to Mr. Klawitter and others who have seen the “darkness” of fishing for fighting fish, while visions of walleyes dance in their heads.

July 29, 2011 at 8:06 pm #985019I’m good with the Blatz But I’ll have to forgo the Pall Malls. Brian I was going to clean the outside of the minnow tank but didn’t have enough 409 so I mixed the bleach in then went to wait on a customer. AS I’ve said before….oops!

Bait shop owners and guides will never tell you the fishing is tough.
Please don’t paint all bait shops with the same brush. We try very hard to give an accurate picture of what is going on to our customers. If you follow the advise of a shop and it doesn’t pan out there may be other factors involved. Lots of times I know when someone leaves the shop they won’t catch fish. Its not to our advantage to give false info to customers as a happy fisherman is a return customer
July 28, 2011 at 9:57 pm #984683Sure we can ship. Send me a PM with all the info and I’ll get one out to you. Brian I suppose getting gored is all in a days work for you.
