One thing I’d enjoy seeing is a comparison of a name brand lure like Livingston compared to an off brand or small/independent brand. I’d like to see if the more expensive ones are really worth it or not.

It doesn’t always have to be about price though. Some of the small/independent brand lures are still expensive but I’d like to know how good they are before buying. If they are just as good I’d love to support the guys making them in the US. Something like Doomsday Tackle, Nichols Lures, Power Team Lures or any number of other companies.

I always like seeing lures in action underwater. Would be cool to see similar lures being used side by side in the water in order to compare their movement.

Sounds exciting and fun but also a ton of work. I assume you’re going to need some help and it’s going to take a good amount of video production.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone recommend this one so I will, the Pelican Catch 120. It retails at $749 but can be found on sale for as low as $599.

It’s just under 12′ long and weighs 69 pounds. It’s wide and stable so you can stand in it but it’s a little slower than others. I added gear tracks, anchor trolley, rod holders and a fish finder to mine. None of my additions had to be made to be ready to fish out of but I wanted to personalize it.

It may have one of the best seats of any fishing kayak. It’s very comfortable and makes it easy for hours of fishing.

There is a newer version called the Catch 120 NXT that comes with gear tracks, and extra storage hatch and floor pads that retails for $879.

For any of you that enjoy kayak fishing I recommend Greg Blanchard’s YouTube videos. Just search his name.

I second the Navionics app. It can be very helpful.

scherrman is not a separate account I setup guys. I promise! Im staying far away from this thread whistling

Yes…once you’ve stepped into a big, deep, hole…you know the next time to steer well clear of it! grin

I think when police get shot in the line of duty the media should cover the tragedy with the same zealous they do when a officer makes a poor decision.

The real problem is the fact that police are being shot and innocent people are being shot by cops. Find ways to end that and we won’t have to worry about how the media covers it. Easier said than done but I feel that’s where the focus should be.

My go to, do-it-all type of rod is a 7 foot medium/heavy fast action. Seems to do well with just about everything.

I won’t get too caught up in this. Just thought the whole thread seemed a little one sided. Nothing wrong with multiple opinions.

Regardless of what we all think of him, what he did worked. It brought awareness to a major issue with our country. It certainly brought people’s attention to the matter which is good. Better than just ignoring the issue altogether.

You guys realize he has done more with his celebrity than almost all of us on here. I don’t care for the guy or even think he’s that good at football but he’s donated a lot of time and money to charities. He’s also raised a lot of attention to some major issues going on in our country. He has freedoms just the same as you and me. Who are we to judge?

I find it interesting how some just assume that people who like this new law and travel to other states to by alcohol have a drinking problem. I guess I assume these are people who don’t drink at all.

There are a lot of people the enjoy drinking socially. There are far fewer people that actually have a severe drinking problem. I live about 20 miles from the ILL/WI border and plenty of people in my area travel over to buy alcohol. Sometimes it’s for better prices, sometimes better selection and sometimes it’s for something that is only sold in that state. There are lots of people who drive to WI to buy New Glarus beer.

Not sure why some automatically go to negative thoughts when talking about alcohol.

The fact that this is a heated debate actually makes me laugh. Sometimes I wish I lived in MN because of all the great public fishing but then things like this make me happy I’m in Iowa.

I live in Iowa where we have liquor sales every day. We can buy it at the grocery store, drug store or liquor store. Many are smaller stores too. I honestly do not understand why anyone would be against this in MN. Is it just a fear of change type of thing? Is it a religious thing?

My pelican catch 120 is fantastic. I can stand and cast with ease it track pretty good for being as wide as it is and is pretty light

I second the Catch 120. I love mine and just added some gear tracks and mounted my fish finder to it. It has a very comfortable, adjustable seat and isn’t too heavy. It’s 69lbs and just light enough that I can carry it and put on top of my SUV.

Craft beers are the way to go. I pretty much only drink craft beer when home but if I’m out doing some long distance drinking then it’s Busch Light. Here are some of my favorites.

Toppling Goliath – Psuedo Sue and Golden Nugget but their other IPAs are great
    Surly – Furious
Lagunitas – IPA and Little Sumpin’
New Glarus – Scream IPA, Black Top and most of their other beers
    Stone – Just about everything
    Potosi – Steamboat Shandy
    Founders – Breakfast Stout
There are so many more but it would take too long to list.

Fished my local sportsman’s club twice in the last week and never got a bite. Saturday I fished the Turkey river in the afternoon and caught a few large suckers. Been hearing about a lot of walleye being caught below the Guttenburg dam the last few weeks.
