I’ve had smoked walleye and it is very good. I personally don’t smoke it, too good of fish just in the pan to smoke. But if you have a bunch and want to, I see no problem with it.

I just purchase the ones that come in a two pack at Fleet Farm for around $20. Have had them for years and never had an issue.

There’s never a specific time of day for fishing. I’ve done most of mine between 5 and 11 AM on the river and have done great but have also had days where you don’t catch a lot. I’ll lindy rig or jig in the morning and handline late morning to late afternoon. It all depends on what they want. They are always there and pretty willing to bite if your presentation is what they want. Plastics are good on a jig. Worms, leeches and minnows all have a place on a lindy. Firetiger is a great rap to use. Just try an area, if it doesn’t go in 20-30 minutes move and try again. In those 20-30 minutes, change up your bait. You can use two lines on the river so have one with a crawler and one with a minnow for example. Cover water. If you aren’t marking fish, don’t fish that area. Look for slack water.

Those rods are nice but I switch over to Limit Creek rods a number of years ago. IMO those are the best bang for the buck.

Looks like you had a great time. The bites always there, some days you just have to work for it now. It was my home water for ten years. But with moving farther out I won’t hit as much. That river is a great fishery.

Windows 7 and up comes with Movie Maker. Not a pro software at all but does the job.

Fished that river for years. If you figure out a way to keep them off, please let me know. Until then, have fun catching sheepies, still fun to be catching fish.

I’ve always loved to fish the lake. Haven’t made it up this year yet but I’ll be taking my 8 year old daughter up this year for a couple of trips to see if she can tie into a big girl. I don’t fish the lake for eaters, it’s fun to fish for big fish. Eventually you need eaters in there though to keep people coming.

Terrible. Not sure what makes people think they have the right to get on neighbors for doing nothing illegal. You sure never have the right to kill someone unless they are trying to do you harm. Hope he rots in prison.

The manufacturer should take care of this. Running an update on your unit should not put it out of commission. If it does, Lowrance should replace like for like, they can then refurb yours and give it to the next guy this happens to.

For me, the best all around shop is Thorne Bros. Most helpful and customer service outdoor business I know.

I’ve heard good things about Hydro Seeding but it’s also expensive. I have to seed an acre this year. I’m renting a seeder and doing it myself.

The 8’3″ ML tip, fast action from Limit Creek is an awesome choice. Soft tip with a good backbone and a telescoping rod makings hauling around an 8+ft rod a lot easier.

Check it out – Limit Creek

Beet me to it. This is absolutely my go to rod for what you want to do with it. You’ll love it. Works great for rigging as well.

Really!? Sorry to hear of your bad experience. BUT, I’ve been with Sprint for 10 years now and have never had any problems. Good luck in the future.

Over 10 years for me and nothing but great service. Every company has bad customer service from someone working the store. I would work your way up and tell them exactly what went on.

Hmmm The last time I was on the Croix for opener I was check twice for my fishing license.

My friend was checked three times by different Co’s.

    Times have changed?

That’s cause you are shady looking.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to put inflatables on kids. It’s kind of like airbags in cars. You’re better off just using a child’s life vest.

If you got the money spend it, but I’d bet it only takes most guys 10seconds most to just snip it off and tie on a different one than those fancy weights.

I’m with you on this. I don’t change out weights all that often. When I do, I’m generally changing out rigs as well. Doesn’t take all that long.

Perfect!!!! That should help keep the crowds down. Do you think there will be any law out there to enforce this? I usually don’t start seeing the 24 hour a day presence of the law until around Memorial Day.

I’ve always obeyed the No Wake law and see so many who don’t. I’ve always waited for law and never see them. But yet I’ll get checked for a creel survey. I’ve called it in and been told, “There is no No Wake on the river.” So I ask why there are signs at the landing and the sheriff’s say they will look into it. Kind of hard to enforce laws you don’t know anything about.

Unreal, what would make a person want to even attempt that? Very dangerous.

They shouldn’t have to be able to cast it but should be able to pull a fish in. Though even then you can help them.

Exactly, it’s hard to get behind something when you hear about it the day of.
