Thanks for the reply Tom. I think I will give it a try. 50 dollars for 1500 yards I can not really pass it up. I wish it would last me that long. Too many poles to respool. again thank you

    Blue,

those are some nice maps also, but do you know why they do not show any wingdams on the maps above the Trempealeau dam.

I get my maps of the river from the U.S Fish and Wildlife office in LaCrosse. I know i took some maps for Winona past Genoa. They might have more. Also If you have GPS navionics river chip works well also.

“have however come across a few cranks through trial and error that just run better without the split ring and in those instances I remove the split ring and go directly to the eyelet with the cross lock.”

James which crankbaits do u take the split rings off.

1st day on the water this early season and it did not matter in my boat. i was out from 1pm to 330pm and we caught 20 eyes and saugers. Mostly eyes today in 15-20fow in Genoa. i rigged half the ringworms one way and the other half the other and it did not matter why i was vertical or dragging. we kept 8 today and threw back three piggy females 20-23. all i can say is go slow. best color was midnight blue with pearl tail, pepper chart., and purple hair.

Joel how is sauk city havent been there for awhile, i am originally from baraboo.

what type of knot do you use when you tie the leadcore to the swivel, and what type of knot do you use when using a fireline/powerpro leader. Does anyone use snaps to switch the baits quickly.

    Jason,
I am just starting to use lead core also this year. Never believed in it until a tournament last year were I was three waying and the boat next to me pulled two nine pounders to win the tournament. I am now a believer, anyways a quick question. i was told to run a barrel swivel off the leadcore to the powerpro leader. what type of knot do you use or what type of leader set up do you use and type of knot. i also used a surgeon knot from my mono backing to leadcore.

    thanks

    shane
jason if you ever get down to lacrosse let me know always an open seat

    Hi James,

maybe you can help me out. i have been using b fish n tackle for some time now and finally looked to see who was a dealer in my area of LaCrosse. I don’t like paying the shipping costs now so I went to Tri-State Bait and Tackle to get some new ringworms, blade baits, paddle tails etc… but the owner advised he hasn’t seen a salesman for along time. He advised when he see’s a salesman he would order more items. Maybe you could pass this along to the right people. It would be really nice for someone to carry all the products and the new products in my area. I know a lot of fisherman would be happy.

    thanks James

Shane. by the way if you ever get down this way i always have an open seat and can get off anyday I want. take care and good luck fishing.

i have quit for a year now. i chewed for 20yrs and went through over a tin a day. i quit cold turkey and used the beef jerky chew and SMOKEY MOUNTAIN HERBAL CHEW. this comes in all flavors. try it works great especially by always having something in your mouth.
