    ken-

i didnt add any oil to the gas. my computer is set for the xd100 oil and i’m using the xd100 oil. The computer automatically uses extra oil from the oil reservoir during the first 5 hours of use. that is what i mean by “double oiling”. The only oil that is being used is from the oil reservoir. There was very little smoke at all during the first five hours and after the first five hours of run time i do not see any smoke at all now. I’m just strickly running what the dealer told me to do.

I still have not had a chance to try out the 19 pitch stainless steel prop because it is on backorder. Hopefully it will arrive sometime this week. I will keep you all posted when i get the chance to try it out. If anyone else has any experience with the 19-pitch prop on the 150 hp E-tec, please share your info so that we can all compare results.

Have you checked out the Gravely zero turns? They are one hell of a tough mower! go to http://www.Gravely.com! They make them for commercial use and home use. I can highly recommend them!

Hi guys…I’ve had a few instant messages regarding my current setup on the 1850 Crestliner Fish Hawk with my new 150 HP E-tec engine and the 21 pitch stainless prop. I have my dealer ordering a 19 pitch stainless steel prop and I have not been able to try it out yet. The new prop has been on backorder. My dealer is expecting to get it later on this week. As soon as I get to try the new 19 pitch stainless prop out I will share the results with you all.

The other question is that once I got past the first 5 hour double oiling period did the motor’s performance seem to change? I honestly cannot tell the difference. i must say i do notice less smoking with the engine, but as far as the engine RPMs and speed of the boat, I really cannot notice any difference in the motor’s performance. Even during the first 5-hours there really was not that much smoking of the motor. The engine is running very smoothly and so far I have nothing but very positive things to say about it.

If anyone else has the 19 pitch stainless prop with the 150 hp e-tec could you please share your info just so we can all use it for comparison purposes.

    Thank you

Got it figured out. Took my 334c unit back to the store today. I tried a new Lakemaster card from the store where I purchased the unit. The new Lakemaster card works fine in my unit and the contours show up beautifully. Just for kicks i tried my old card in the store’s display unit. The old card works in their display unit, but not in mine! I’m baffled as to why the old card doesn’t work in my unit. I never did get the old card to work in my 334c. The store manager will exchange cards once i bring in my receipt to show that i purchased it at their store. This is weird to me, but at least it is solved.

I brought the unit in to the store i purchased it from. it just is not reading the lakemaster data card. THe gentleman in the store has no idea what is up with this unit either. I’m going to give Lowrance a call tomorrow afternoon. We tried the card in one of their store units and it picks the card up no problem. If Lowrance can’t get it to work for me I’m going to swap out the unit with one that works. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Congratulations! I just love the 150 e-tech. Keep me posted on how your prop works! I’m going to have my dealer try putting on a 19 pitch 3 blade stainless prop sometime next week. He thought I’d be able to get a little more RPMs out of the new prop and possibly pick a few more mph too. I’m curious to see how yours is rigged and how it works out. You will love the power that this motor offers!
    Congratulations again!

I tried these suggestions out. Still no lake contours on my map on the 334c. I know the lakemaster card is good because i can get the lake contours to show up on my handheld h20c just fine. I have played with the max contrast and brightness levels without any success. I have chosen the lowrance setting and i am even using the night viewing option I even changed the lake background to white and then back to blue. I even changed the us mode and international mode without any luck. any other suggestions?.

I just picked up my 150 hp e-tec and my new 1850 Crestliner Fish Hawk this week. Wow!! I am highly impressed with this motor. When i fire it up it just runs so quietly at idle and even at top end speed it’s real quiet! As far as performance I am just extremely pleased with how it shoots me up on plane instantly! When I hit the throttle it really moves me out of the water! I am going to have my dealer switch the prop this week because i’m not quite getting my max rpms out of the prop. I’m only reaching 51 mph (according to GPS) at 4700 rpms with a 21 pitch prop. I’m supposed to be a little higher (5300 rpm), so I’m going to test out a few props. I think I may get even a little more top end speed if i do this.

The Yamaha is a nice motor too, but as far as i can tell this new 150 hp e-tec is going to be a really great motor for me. I only have about 4 hours of run time on my motor so far. One big thing that sold me on the e-tec is the 7 year warranty. i don’t think this has ever happened in the marine industry before now. Good luck with your decision I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice.

I just picked up my 150 E-tech and my 1850 Crestliner Fish Hawk this past week. I am extremely satisfied with this motor!!!!! It gets me up out of the hole in an instant. I am going to have my dealer put on a different prop this week because i am not getting my max rpms. I have a 21 pitch prop and I am getting 51 mph at 4700 rpm. (measured with gps) I am supposed to be reaching around 5200-5300 rpm and this 150 e-tec is not even fully propped out yet. If I were you, I would strongly consider the E-tec. This motor just has me so excited about fishing. I had to wait awhile to get the motor (since February) But man was it ever worth the wait! I just cannot believe how quiet this motor is as compared to my friends 150 hp mercury optimax and the yamaha 150 hp. I ran side by side with both of them this afternoon and let me tell you I blew them both out of the water. Later on this afternoon when the winds picked up I had this boat out in 3-4 foot waves on Lake Winnebago for a test run and it really performed awesome! I highly recommend the e-tec motor! Good luck with your decision!
