Get it ASAP as most will not cover preexisting conditions. Some are breed specific and only cover certain things per breed. Another item to look at is the lifetime coverage amount. Once your set on a policy, plan to not change policies again. Think preexisting conditions will not be covered by any new policy.

It is making the correct decision the first time and staying with it. The sooner you get it the better off it is.

Research each company for your specific breed. For us, we have 2 dachshunds and found a policy that has no lifetime limits, no per annual limits, 250 deductible and covers IVDD. Glad we have it, one of them has had 2 surgeries this year at 10K a pop already and we have been fully reimbursed. They cover their annual dental cleaning, annual checkups etc with ours.

You do pay out of pocket and then submit for reimbursement. We have never had an issue getting the reimbursements back. usually a check arrives a few weeks after the submission. Need all doctors notes, receipts etc but I am glad we have the policies. We pay $160.00 a month for both policies.

Metlife is who our policy is through

We have done that for a few years. Never had an issue leaving the house on shore with break in etc. Be ready for more of a camping experience on the ice than catching. Amount of noise and pressure on the weekends is insane. Fishing is tough going most weekends unless you can get away from the crowds, which in the past 2 years has been impossible. heavy snow limited everyone in 2022 and minimal ice in 2023. Early season is usually good, but as winter progresses it gets slow on the weekends. This year will be a repeat of 2022 with the bait fish populations in the lake, fish will come through, look at it and swim off.

It’s still a great experience and we have decided that Mille Lacs in a wheel house on the weekends is about getting away from everyday life. Enjoy it

As far as resorts, Nitti’s hunters point is probably the #1 for wheel houses, take that for what you want. Plan on alot of company out of there. Rocky Reef does a good job in the winter and can get you access to mud and rocks, but if you want to leave it on shore you will need to buy a seasonal pass from them. Couple hundred bucks. Randy’s rentals will get a lot of facebook mentions but I won’t fish out of there. If the ice is good, Terry’s is the place to go and he has access to all the mud, he won’t let anyone out though until the ice is good, 15+ inches. Red Door and Barnacles are under the same ownership now, so expect the same service from both. They have alot of plowed road systems and cover alot of area but the extra drive to the north end takes more time. Phil’s Myr Mar won’t get online reviews but if you want better fishing and less to no amenities, thats a good place to go out of. If you enjoy the gravel then stick to the south side with Jerry Brandt’s or Lybacks, Lybacks limits the number or who can have access based on seasonal pass only.

Comes down to what type of structure you want to fish, what amenities do you need and then how far off the beaten path are you willing to travel to get to fish if catching is priority.

You will be in shock when you pull out to 8 mile and can barely get a spot on the edge of the entire flat on the weekends.

Always hard to tell actual condition of used.

We have 2000 100hp yamaha on a family boat and it’s still going strong. No idea on hours on it currently but it’s definitely been used and still going strong.

Those skeeter tillers were fairly popular back then. I know of one that was just traded last year. That family put a lot of time in it and handled mille lacs well.

Trip was amazing. Thank you all for the replies. Everything went smooth

Way more anglers up there fishing than what I recalled. Walleye fishing was good, but the fish definitely seemed to be more pressured than what I recall. Definitely not a complaint, but wow was there a lot of boats out and about. Almost felt like MN at times.

Lake Trout fishing was beyond anything I have done before. We boated 20 fish from 23 to 31″ in 3.5 hours one morning. 11 minute per fish average. Just amazing. Went with the standard tubes and swim jigs the first day, but the fish were feeding on small baitfish, so they would chase but not commit. Downsized the next couple times out to blade baits and it was unreal.

    Few pics of the trout.

Hit the pond on Saturday, lots and lots of bugs and bait balls. Fish were finicky and could tell they have been feeding on the bug hatches. Good to see some bait in the lake, as I believe that lake is on a crash course of cannibalizing.

Water temps showed 68 degrees and we hit 3 of the main mud flats, scratched out 10 fish for the day in 5 hours of fishing. Never measured any of them as water temps were up a bit and the mud is always deeper.

Snapped one pic of this one with a mouth full of some sort of worms in it. Not sure what they were, about 2″ in length and that fish was spitting them up in piles.

Jump on a launch boat. Terry’s, Garrison Sports and Twin Pines are all right there and usually have walk on trips.

Stayed at Barker’s island. Decent, parking is soso and not alot of power options. They usually let us park the boats in the grass and run power out the window. Otherwise can rent a slip from the marina, if so bring an adapter as power on the dock is not 110 so need to have an adapter. Never had an issue the few times we have stayed here with a boat.

    Congrats!

What a great post to end it on. The part that resonated with me is to know you were actually aware that you can benefit your current staff more with moving on than holding the cards to yourself. It takes a lot of in depth thinking to arrive at the decision to let go and then to actually move forward with letting it go. Most owners cannot and ultimately we as business owners hold others back, even though we may think we are giving the maximum value. To understand the challenges small businesses owners face in day to day operations and to know the amount of thought you had to put into this is an example for everyone to follow. Taking emotion out of business is the best information anyone has ever given myself. One of the hardest things to do is to eliminate emotion, especially during your decision process with an offer on the table. I’m sure a lot of reflection was put into it. I understand your forward thinking and you certainly deserve all the benefits finally rewarded. Enjoy the next chapter in your story and thank you for the quality that you put into the show. Alot of people learned a lot of valuable information that will benefit them for years to come.

Have the kipawa on a 36v ultrex. Noticeable difference in terms of reaction for steering and power. However, they are not good for weeds, so if your going to run through weeds, stay with the standard minn kota prop, if your looking to gain more reaction or a quicker response on steering the 3 blade kipawa is great when not in the weeds. Cannot put an anti vibration prop nut on the kipawa that I am aware of. The anti vibration prop nuts help, but not a noticeable difference in my opinion. Maybe it is noticed under the water for noise as sound is magnified under water by alot. Noticeable difference from the kipawa 3 blade to the standard 2 blade stock prop though. Highly recommend the prop swap if your out away from weeds.

We catch plenty of fish out of the tower side and we never fish the big water. We fish islands and points. I’m debating on heading up for a quick weekend with my son this weekend

Just an FYI Aim walleye tourney is sunday, take off is out of Fortune Bay. Not sure if its a full 100 boat field yet, but will be a few more boats than normal on the water this weekend and should be some good fish caught, hopefully

Great place. Electrical posts are along the shore where you beach the boat, they have tie ups staked in the ground to tie off too as well and electrical posts to run power to your boat. Bring enough cord as the posts are a few feet away from the water.

these guys spend a lot of time guidin

There are guides that run the entire season, there are guides that fish one or two events, there is also a lot of locals that fish just fish one or two events. There is usually a few NWT and MWC anglers in these as well and some anglers who are heavily involved in the fishing industry with products etc. You have teams made up of buddies who just enjoy competing, Then there are anglers like myself who fish as a husband wife team and are having a blast learning and competing. It’s what makes the entire field up and makes it that much more competitive. The industry is fairly small once you start fishing these types of events, you will learn more about techniques, patterns, new technologies and equipment. It is amazing to look back after each one, even though the results are not always what an angler may have wanted, or the day didn’t go as planned, in the end it is about competing, learning and putting those tools to work on the next outing and becoming a better angler day in and day out. I have met so many great anglers and learned more from fishing these events in a couple years than what I could learn in a lifetime. It forces me to actually go out and fish different bodies of water in all conditions, usually during the toughest hours of fishing for walleyes. A body of water changes really fast when you put 80 to 100 anglers out there that are competing against each other. The number of spots seems to really diminish on tourney day.

Saturday morning I got down to red wing around 7. On the water and at first cut by 7:30. Only a couple other boats there. 15 fish and 1.5 hours later it was combat fishing. People coming within 5ft of the boat to try and see what we were doing… It was getting ridiculous. I would catch a fish on the east side of the cut, and every boat would converge on us. Then I would slide over to the west side of the cut, and catch another 1 or 2 and all the boats moved over there. It was definitely the color and action of the bait that was catching fish for us. People began doing exactly what we were doing, but couldn’t get the same results. Picking the bait up about 4″ off bottom and letting it drop back down. .3 to .4 mph keeping the bait back behind the boat a ways.

I put in at Covill Saturday and Sunday. Sunday morning my buddy caught what appeared to be a 50″ or so sturgeon. It came completely out of the water about 15ft from the boat. Fought it for 2 hours before it broke off 3 miles downstream from where he hooked up!

Fairly certain we saw you hooked up on that. We launched about 930ish out of covhill and saw a warrior out in the main channel hooked into something that seemed to be heading down river. Was wondering what was on the other line as we went by. Thanks for answering the unknown.

Yes it is the one for the boat. Came with the unit.

wife gave me the livescope and 106 on our wedding day as my gift. She had it all ordered through a friend of ours who is well known in the livescope world. Was highly recommended to go with the 106 ultra over the 93. Needless to say there was no jitters on the day after I opened that up.

Then we added the ice bag after.
It all fits in the garmin xl bag but definitely could be shorter for that purpose.

Tried posting photos of the wire harnesses.

Same 4 pin style on both but the gauge is different in them. Not sure how that would affect performance.

First one is the 93 with an 18 gauge

    The 106 has a 16 gauge

Garmin XL Ice bundle bag and mount. Yes I turn the screen down. I do not recall on the power cord. I want to say they are different. Will look tonight when i get home but never paid alot of attention to that portion.

Its definitely alot more to carry around. No doubt about that part. It is one of those things though that once you use the one it’s hard to go back to the smaller one.

I originally went with the 106 and then added the 93 for the boat on one of the 600 dollar sales they did. But looking at them both I kept pondering this same thing this summer and i am definitely staying with the 106 for the ice this year.

I have both the 106 and 93 with livescope networked together. 106 is on the bow and 93 is on the dash for the boat and I run the 106 with the ice bundle in the winter.

There is a difference between the 2 and noticeable. The 93 definitely shows everything you need, but if you put them side by side, you will focus more on the 106.

This winter, i was debating using the 93 as it’s a little more portable, less amps etc but I am going to stick with the 106 as it is a better picture.

The nice thing about the 106 is the added network port. I can network the 106 and 93 together without the added network switch for the boat.

I run an amp lithium 18ah battery and can get about 8 hours out of it on the ice.

Did they create their own weight scale or did they run the AIM or MTT system? Good to see the CPR. Definitely the way to go for tourneys, I like the sauger only concept as well. Will try to set a reminder for this next year. Looks like a fun one to do.

Had 57 saturday night. Caught a few but it wasn’t on fire by any means. Started deeper early on and marked alot of fish, couldn’t get those to go, moved into 8 to 10 fow and picked up a few. Baitfish everywhere. Had one that was 21.5 and kept that for a meal as we have not kept anything all summer anywhere. There was 4 little perch in the livewell that it spit up so they are on the feedbag, but also no shortage of forage from what i saw all night on the livescope and the amount that was in the livewell from one fish.

Pick your accesses accordingly. Went out of Red Door and that channel going out is really shallow. Even with a jackplate I had to run the bow mount to get out. Won’t be going back out of that one until the water raises. Nothing against them, where I always launch if I want to fish the far north shore. That shore with the sand is really shallow along the entire shore right now. Went out of Terry’s a few weeks ago and that water was down as well but nothing like the far north end. Will be sticking to that area next weekend as I know I can get in and out of there easier.

Definitely good to be back on Mille in the fall and trolling. Something about those eyes in the fall at night, moon above and calm water cruising along with the crankbaits out that I really enjoy.

Wind is going to be there. West shore should be fine based on wind finder. But its going to be blowing.

Hoping it at least gets to the 60 mark but that is probably wishful thinking.

rmin guy through and through. So you know

Yes it is based on an algorithms. Enter in the parameters and it highlights areas on the lake you are on or want to view for the given data. Select the lake, Enter Time of day, season, wind, clear sky, cloudy sky etc water clarity, species etc.

Have played around with it and found some of the areas it selected to be holding fish. For me I think it’s just another tool in the arsenal to help breakdown water that I Have not been on before. Shows some potential starting points and areas that should hold fish. Is it 100 percent accurate, no idea, I do like it for breaking down lakes and then running the electronics around the areas it selects.
