I know of some public accesses on the west end but the issue is they can have huge ice heaves onshore and it’s tough to get on. There are some cheaper options out there and do you plan on having sleds? Off road with truck could be tough.

So, humor me for a second, if a guy had an unlimited phone plan. They could technically cast from their phone correct? The next question is, if you have a hotspot, that hotspot would need to connect to a phones network right? So when I’m out on the islands of Lake of the Woods this winter and the Wild are trying to secure a number 1 pick in the upcoming draft and I would like to see that, I would need to be in an area with some phone service?

Alot of baitfish in the water, and a recent bug hatch is making things pretty tough. I’d suggest pulling cranks or spinners around some of the reefs just north of where you are.

One spot that is close to shore, and gets overlooked all the time is the Birchwood side. There are a few beaches to walk in from and some really great structure over there. I’ve caught crappies out in the shallow weeds on that side, and is probably 100 feet from shore.

We’ve always stayed at Cass Lake Lodge and they have been great. Puts us on fish and we are close to some really good lakes. (Winnie, and some smaller lakes)

Hey Mitch, where in Central Minnesota were you doing this? I agree with Charlie that bite on the Croix is awesome. Coming up pretty quick here.

I don’t want to give away too many secrets here, but that lake is awesome for crappies, walleyes, smallmouth and largemouth bass. The biggest issue I think is early ice, and the lack thereof areas to get on the lake. There is a few public beaches out of Birchwood, and one in Mahtomedi. Everyone knows about Bel-Aire, and Ramsey but to walk out to an area with a lot of structure is tough to do. Once the houses, and people get on the lake the fish spread out a lot more, and is tough to pinpoint decent schools of fish.

My two cents, I know though there are a lot of people that do really well on that lake.

I checked out the East side of the lake and found anywhere between 3-5 inches of ice. Fishing was fairly slow but had more success in 20+ feet.

I’m going to head out today, I’m bringing the spud bar and check the the East side of the lake. I’ll let you know what I find.

Besides the guy who tested the ice with his truck, anyone know how much ice White Bear Lake has?

I’m trying to find that first episode but it isn’t on Youtube yet? Couldn’t watch it the other day since I was in a deer stand and no DVR.

I would suggest the Big Buddy. I have the 949i and it does a great job of heating up the house. On those cold nights it even challenges the Big Buddy.

I had the exact same issue with my LX-7. Eventually I just bought an extra set of connectors in case it goes out on a fishing trip.

Just curious, you know or anyone know if the LX-9 will hook up to this? I know that LX-7 does but I don’t know if that camera attachment messes up that battery.

I know this one has been said before, and I am sure you will do it again but the Pool 4 shows, on either Blade Baits, or plastics is too good. So many folks are down there already, but it never gets old!
