Most of the guys in here are focused on walleye up at the red wing dam buddy. Not sure what kinda advise ul get on perch. Good luck tho.

I watched a you tube video were a 30.5 in walleye smashed a 10in musky bait with snow on the ground in the video. I can tell you, in the past Iv cought 27.28in eyes with big shad still in their mouth. Now, some of the moon eye shad in that river are huge. I’m not saying go up their and start whipping musky baits around, but most of the guys up there are focused on blade baits an plastics from who Iv talked to. In my opinion, I’d like to see one guy take a chance, instead of pitching blade baits or 3 in plastics, pitch or pull a gold or silver red eye or a bigger bait, Most of the reports are males being cought, and someone might pop a pig or 2 but, in my opinion if those big girls are feeding on the shad, those blade baits are a snack to them. Take it however you what. I know some guys in here would disagree but, I’m no pro.
good luck with whatever presentation you use.
Bassindude. I’m gonna see what I can do about that. I live right off the woodville exit. Wouldn’t be much out of your way if u come in on the free way.
Il keep you posted. I work 2nd shift so Monday might be a short notice but il flip u a 20 for gas or whatever. Thanks man. Let me know.
Comen from eau Claire ? Gotta empty seat ? Stop in woodville and pick me up. Never hurts to meet new people.
When u used to fish out of a ranger and a 250 etec behind you, and you haven’t been on the water in a few yrs, you kinda start to miss the rush after awhile.
Well I’m not gonna get myself fired over it but, I’m gonna let him know that I was pretty disappointed.
Trust me when I see him on Monday he’s not going to like what I have to say. When uv got 3 young kids. You can’t just wake up one morning and jump in the truck and head to the river. U gotta plan a week ahead of time for one day. Then that day comes, your all pumped up. And get shot down.
Anyone gotta empty seat Sunday? Was suppose to go fishing with my boss Saturday, never got a phone call. Haven’t been fishing in 3 yrs. Gotta itch and need to scratch it.
That’s for sure….was suppose to go fishing with my boss Saturday but never got a phone call.
Any predictions for the weekend bite ? With the snow coming in Thursday and temps in the mid 40s this weekend.
This might sound funny, I did some night crawler hunting the other night. They are out. Would it be worth drifting crawler harnesses in shallow water ? Or pulling 3 way rigs with floaters?
So. I wanna set the record straight, so I’m not named the idiot of the outdoors in here. I wanted to produce the pictures of these fish. So I asked the guy to send them to me. After I asked, suddenly the 33 turned into a 30, and the 31 into a 29. Ok so I seen the pics, they are big females, but I guess as fishermen, wev all been guilty of telling storys.
I haven’t fished much in the last 5 yrs. But I guess getting married and having kids slowed that up a little. Iv got a itch and need to scratch it. If anyone’s gotta empty seat in the boat let me know….
I grew up in Red Wing. Most of the walleye fishing I ever did was in spring threw fall. Lead line or planner boards. I’m New to the vert jig at the dam. Iv never had much luck up there myself.
The big girls are starting to show up the way it sounds, I talk to a guy at work that put a 33 and a 31 in the boat. The rain and temp drop could change things but never know.
It’s been a few years sence Iv been down their. A buddy and I are comen down next weekend. He’s been catching males in 4ft of water using blade baits. Myself Iv always been a fan of jig and plastics. Are there any hot colors producing that I should keep in mind ?
