I had lots of problems with the 2010 Lodge I owned, lost of frost build up on the windows and door, numerous brake problems mostly from design and how they rans the wires. All that aside they are solidly built structurally. The house I have now has a galvanized frame (not a lodge).

I have a Morton and very happy with it, I had a small leak after 14 years and they came out looked at it and fixed for no charge, the crew that built it was out of Grand Rapids.

Are the other batteries completely discharged? They shouldn’t be since they were on the onboard all winter.

**This is a response to a thread earlier today about tracking systems on wheelhouses**

    Hey guys,

As a Deputy Sheriff and a fellow outdoorsman it is important to let you folks know some of the things i know that may help:

    1. Criminals IMO read these threads quite a bit. When Discussing placement of these tracking devices (which work!) make sure to private message the person asking the question. I know we all think criminals are “dumb” but believe it or not I have dealt with people who do plenty of research on the type of “clientele” they are going to steal from.

    2. Mark all of your gear with some sort of special I.D. marking. These guys tend to go straight to pawn shops in the metro (or wherever.) Use a metal inscriber to put initials or something along those lines so you have some firepower when trying to retrieve your belongings in the event your gear is stolen.

    3. TAKE GOOD PHOTOS! If you have detailed photos of your equipment it will help the police.

    4. Write down product info. Serial numbers are key to an investigation. No serial number, Nothing to track.

    5. Don’t shy away from the little tings. Put a tongue lock on the trailer. Put a nice heavy-duty chain and lock around the wheel and some sort of frame. If it even looks hard to steal most criminals will move on to something that is easier to take.

    6. Blinking light in window. This one is somewhat of a stretch. Find a blinking red or blue LED light and place it in the window. In the off season order up a sticker that says “this trailer is monitored by a tracking device.” Place this near places a criminals would look in, try to open, windows, doors, metal tongue etc. This is a little deterrent that is simply the reason we all put fake “ADT” signs in our front yards. Most criminals DO NOT want to risk that.

It is sad we live in a world that we have to do all this. It is up to you to decide if your fish house will be the one in the Outdoor News as “MISSING/STOLEN PLEASE HELP.”
Thanks for the helpful information and thank you for doing the job that you do to keep us safe.

I’m 41, and while still sucking down Prednisone to help an asthmatic get over Pneumonia I’m noticing even when fully healthy dragging 30lbs of auger around sucks.

I’m torn. I have a Clam Drill Plate and Auger, and would look at a Milwaukee Fuel M18 for $200 to drive it at around 12lbs

For $300 get a Propane Auger on sale today

Or for $399 grab a Lithium Lazer at Scheels. (Semi worried about fires, has this been addressed?)
This will be my 5th season with a 10 inch propane with no problems or degredation.

Insulated and side entry flip would be my preference, and additional consideration on the quality of the them tub or sled and the seats.

How about the Arrowhead Ice Show the weekend of December 10th. You’ve got Marine General as well, they always have a booth at the show.

X3 on ARE, very durable, and I have been very happy with mine, they also stand behind their product.

Yes, I would order a skylight again, the extra light is pretty nice especially if you have the all wood interior.

I have a 2016 Ice Castle with a sky light, I don’t have any leaks but do get some condensation but no drips we do wipe it off. I did varnish the interior largely so the condensation wouldn’t stain the wood around the sky light.

I had really good luck with the whitetail Institute double cross last year, a great crop of brassicas for last fall followed by an awesome thick and lush crop of clover this year in one planting. I am planning to do more this year.
