For pan fishing, I like 5 pound Power Pro Ice Tec with a 12-18 inch leader of Gamma 2 pound ESP ice. Backfill the reel with some cheaper line and only use about 50 foot of the power pro ice. It will last for years.

I installed the new update and I too now have to turn the sensitivity up as well as the target size to see my jig. I can now see my jig in less then 5 FOW. Still need to use it more in different water clarity and depth to test it.

Four Seasons in Red Wing had some a while back or Scheels in Rochester had the kit.

Love my Niles hand auger too. Its light, cuts fast and easy, and as you said, it always starts even in the cold.

I had the same problem on my 525 too, was intermittent for a while then went solid, transducer actually had a crack in it. Make sure your setting is for shallow water if you are fishing in less the 20 FOW. Try to swap the transducer if you can find someone who has one.

Did you extract all the files after downloading prior to coping them to your SD card? Also, check your user manuals to see if a 16GB SD card is supported, you may have to use a 8GB SD card.

I have a pair of 6 inch leather Vasque too, very good boot, good support, just a couple of ounces heavier, good traction and they have lasted a long time with an occasional dressing of Pecard Leather Care. There are several good brands, select the one that fits you best.

We used to hunt in an area that had large areas of shale rock on a pretty steep mountain side, of course the elk were always above or below the shale, and the shortest/fastest way was to just cross the shale, although it was not the easiest. The shale would twist/slip/slide as we walked on it cutting into your ankles which the leather protected. My buddy also had weak ankles which the 11 inch leather helps to support from all the twisting.

For about 20 years I wore Danner 11 inch leather boots with air bob soles. Great boots, but heavy. Then I went with Asolo 6 inch, which are great. Now, I wear Kenetrek Bridger Ridge 6 inch, also a very nice boot, waterproof, light, good traction and not to hot. Cut your toe nails short to prevent black toe, wear 2 pair of socks (liner and a light wool), and I buy my boots 1/2 size larger then street shoes as going down hill can do some damage on your toes. I don’t climb as many rocks now, so the shorter, lighter, non-leather boots work great for me. Hope you have a super hunt.

    7 degrees F
It is important to watch the boiling sap very closely as it approaches syrup, since it is more likely to boil over at this point. If you have a candy thermometer, finish the boil when the temperature is 7 degrees F above the boiling point of water.

Not sure on the elite 5, you might try online at Lowrance.com under support to look at the operators manual, if you don’t have one. From my HDS 8 manual, press MENU twice to get to SETTINGS, select SYSTEM, select COORD SYSTEM, highlight desired option (degrees, degrees/minutes, deg/min/sec) and press enter.

    From my LMS 525 manual:
    Coordinate System Selection
The Coordinate System Menu lets you select the coordinate system to
use when displaying and entering position coordinates.

Your example on your elite 5 coordinates is degrees, minutes and thousands of a minute. What you want to enter is degrees, minute and seconds. They must match.

Go to GPS Setup on your Elite 5, select Coordinate System, select your desired coordinates, press enter, exit.
