It may be a burst of very high frequency sound, but when it happens there is a very audible “click”. Every depth finder I’ve ever owned was plainly audible. If the fish are shying away, it’s from the click.

You’re right, he was OC for the Rams before he came here. Either way, his teams are not well prepared and don’t make half time adjustments. Look at the last two weeks.

The warning signs were there early. How many times this season did they have a good lead only to lose it in the second half? They did that with the Packers twice. That doesn’t happen because of the players. The coaching on this team is vastly over rated. KOC a was a linebacker coach before he got this job. He’s in over his head, week after week. The Vikings were also lucky. How many games did they win because of a defensive touchdown? Nope, just like a couple of years ago this was an average at best team with a shiny record.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. Same old Vikings.

My mother got the flu shot and was sick as hell for three weeks. In addition, every year some doctor from the CDC comes up with excuses why this year’s formula didn’t work. You never hear them claiming that they nailed it. Hard pass from me. I take a multi-vitamin with zinc, and haven’t been sick in years.

As far as the definition of vaccine goes, when you got the polio vaccine, you didn’t get polio. When they first came out with the Covid shot, they claimed you wouldn’t get sick and you couldn’t spread it to others. That obviously was wrong and very quickly they changed their tune and said it would reduce the severity of the symptoms and that was it. That seems different to me.

If this is anything like Salmon farming, count me out. Between the artificial food pellets and the amount of antibiotics dumped on those fish…who are swimming around in each other’s crap…Pen raised Salmon are considered to be the worst food in the world. No thanks.

Swung by the 494 access this morning. The roads, parking lot, and ramp have all been plowed and sanded and salted. There is a bit of shore ice right at the end of the ramp otherwise it’s all open and clear. The old river sure looked good. Too bad it’s going to be below zero tonight.

I’ve caught fish all over the place. I even catch Walleyes on blade baits once in a while. I can catch Bass on the two acre pothole down the block from my house. But I can’t catch a cold on the Brûle. I’ve been there a bunch of times, never caught anything. Never saw anybody else catch anything. I finally concluded Steelhead are imaginary and threw in the towel.

You’d hope as the season progresses your team improves. This team has been going backward pretty much every game. It looks like the DC’s of the world have seen enough tape on Darnold to shut him down, or force him into stupid turnovers. And the Vikings are still the Vikings. They need 7 yards, run a 6 yard route. Need 5, go 4. Holding a lead with a few minutes left? Three high school level running plays and then punt the ball away to give the opposition a chance to win. As much as I absolutely detest the “prevent defense”, I really despise the “prevent offense” ! Why stop doing what got you a lead in the first place.

In his later years, Dad didn’t get out fishing with me much anymore. When I’d get home from a trip I’d always call him with the “fishing report”. He’s been gone 24 years now, and to this day I stop and think about calling him. Miss ya, Dad.
