They have their time and place. Good cold water bait.

Stop and think a minute. Unless you are using a Tennessee type handle or fish holding your fore finger on the front grip the material the handle is made of has minimal influence on sensitivity. In most cases sensitivity is transmitted thru the reel seat to your hand and how the reel seat is mounted to the rod is most important. As in the transmission of electricity the use of similar materials to conduct sensitivity is most important. By building paste epoxy arbors between the reel seat and rod blank this can be readily achieved. Narrow masking tape arbors are used to
center the reel seat on the blank and the voids are filled with paste epoxy. The additional weight is negligible and much less than a total wood handle. If you like the look or feel of wood, wood reel seats can be used and mounted similarly. Burl cork is also a good transmitter of sensitivity but also tends to add weight.

Both good guides. You also could go with LCSVHG same frame with hardaloy ring. Holds up good not as expensive. Not as eye catching though ( don`t mean walleye!! ). Rainshadow vs. Pac Bay.

I have 2 American Angler knives and they are in my opinion the best electric knives out there. I have used them all. I carry a powere inverter in my truck with an extension cord so I always have the power I need and don`t have to worry about batteries running down.

Createx Paints are go out of the bottle. They can be thinned to give transparent effects. Best done by using their reducer. Clogging problems can be related to air brush adjustments and or compressor pressure adjustments.
Acryllic Paints have to be clear coated. All paints that
are air brushed should be as paint layer is so thin that it scratches easily even lacquers. Acryillics should be heat set between coats. Common clear coats are Flex Coat and
Evriotech. They can be brushed on and rotated or thinnned and sprayed. All painting apps require good ventilation.

Loomis quality has suffered greatly since being bought out by Shimano. St. Croix MLXF 6’9″ either in Avid or Tournament get my vote. Like the 6’8″ better for dragging.

Switch the unit over to night vision and it will improve the wingdam visibility. I have a pair of 332c and had the same problem. Obviously they don`t consider wingdams important for navigation or fishing.

I have had a set of three EZ-Steps for close to four years now and wouldn`t be without them. I have a Lund 1800 Fisherman. I had polio and just had a knee replaced a year ago and they have allowed me to keep fishing rivers, often by myself as I am retired. Mark lives down here just outside of Spring Valley and they have become pretty
much of a standard on the walleye boats on the Illinois.
They are not that expensive for the materials and workmanship that goes into them. You get back what you pay for. He custom makes them for your boat and your needs. You
can get one two or three step stepups. I started out with two and went back and got the third when my knee pooped and was able to squeeze in another year before the knife. They
also allowed me to get back on the water a lot quicker. You
will see alot of them on the tournament boats/trailers.To me they are not a luxury , they are a requirement for safe
fishing. A fall off the spare tire or slippery step can end a fishing career or pastime real quick.

Would not use them on my rods. Too many negatives. I think
St. Croix switched over to them just to keep up with Loomis
GLX. Plenty of good guides out there. Have seen photos of some grooved out from braid in less than a year. Also have
heard from other builders that they loose there resiliency
in cold weather. Marketing is more important than quality.
It is like using no.6 guides and tips on jigging rods that
will be used in cold weather.

Don`t know about ice fishing but have used power pro ice line for open water fishing with temps down to 0 the last 2 winters with very good results ( 14 # test, 3# diametrer ).
Only negative effect as far as I am concerned the blue color
is a bear for line watching. Hardly any ice buildup pitching
and fly line dressing took care of that.
