Along the lines of what mosseydan was saying, I also like to take branches and close off or block secondary trails leading off the main trail that goes past my stand! I seem to see more deer by “directing” them towards me.
I would say at 15 you could put her on her own in a blind or on the ground somewhere! Or mom or grandpa could sit with her if you did not feel comfortable doing that. My sister shot her first deer at 14 sitting on a piece of styrofoam about 100 yards away from my dad!
I agree with Johnny on this one! 160Gr Snuffer will do the trick, at least shooting trad! I have had very poor experience with the steelforce, the heads are razor sharp but I have not seen a good blood trail from one yet!
60/70/80/90/100 yards what’s the point. Why not just pick up a shotgun or muzzleloader. Kind of takes the fun out of being up close and personal with an animal. I hunt with a bow to get as close as possible to the animal, if I wanted to take 50 on up shots I would just gun hunt. We all hunt for different reasons and if shooting long shots at game is your deal then go for it!
Ya they dropped it to 30#’s last year. For you steel force guys, How were your blood trails? My experience is they are razor sharp but have never had a GOOD bloodtrail with them.
I think I have the perfect Lab. He is an american lab and at 10 months he is as mellow as they come. He is rock solid in the field and let’s my daughter pull on his tail!
I personally enjoy the Primetime video’s. A few guys I really don’t care to watch on there but for the most part they are my favorite deer hunting video’s. Drury just has to much talking on their’s for me. I am really suprised that there is not a video that goes from start to finish to show looking at scouting to harvesting. Would take awhile but would be very informative. If anyone out there knows of any like this give me a shout.
