Check the power and connections going to your module. The power to your module may be interrupted–even if it has been soldered.

Application period for deer hunting is usually first week of May thru the first week of June. I think your only option at this point would be a holiday doe tag if they are available. Go to the Iowa DNR web site and you should be able to see what it will take to hunt there. It isn’t cheap.

Looks like there’s a herd of sheep out on the lake.

I don’t think the off shore nets have been used that long–less than ten years? 4th lowest on record may not be the end of the world. The DNR has done a pretty good job of managing the lake and it will be interesting to see how accurate their assessment is. I’m all for them being cautious.

    Scott,

Did the DNR have any numbers from offshore nets?

If you compared 16-24″ walleyes from Mille Lacs to ones from Upper Red or Gull you’d think the Mille Lacs eyes were pretty beefy.

When lindy rigging you don’t always get a “tap” from the fish. Sometimes you can see your rod tip start to load and the pressure on your finger increase. With nightcrawlers I usually give the fish a little more time to eat the bait than with minnows or leeches. There really isn’t a right or wrong amount of time to let the fish take the bait when you’re riggin.

There are some pretty good numbers of perch, suckers and shiners for them to eat.

The study was done throughout the summer and the DNR found that they had overestimated the hooking mortality percentage that they used for harvest purposes.

I was out Saturday and saw one eye, one sucker and a tulibee in six plus hours of fishing. Also, the DNR still had release pens on some of the north end flats two weeks ago. Does anyone know if they are still doing a mortality study?

Maybe it’s those guys from the fishing talk radio show and their audience.

I run an FL-18 with the tranducer mounted to the bottom of my bow mount electric. There is some minimal interference when you give power to the electric. The interference goes away quickly and the flasher works as it should. I have my transducer mounted directly to the motor’s lower unit–I have been told you can get rid of most intereference by putting a little foam or a couple layers of tape in between the lower unit and the transducer.
