I have run a couple of the ones fleet farm sells. I am not sure of brand, but they are green and white. I have had no issues not crazy cheap, but I did find Scheels ran a deal on the Marcum brute. I watched a lot of ice hole power videos before I got the Marcum and that one seemed to be the best. I think I paid under $100 for it also.

I built 2×4 and plywood shelves all along the back wall of my garage. I have 3 “levels” of them, and one wraps around over my work bench I have fastened with cleats screwed into the rafters and into the wall studs for that one. I have hub and 1 man shack along with 2 sleds and all my gear goes into totes. I also have all my hunting and summer things out there also in totes and basically rotate whatever is in season to the lower shelves. I also have them Berkly rod holders and they are mounted on my ceiling for both open water and ice poles. my garage is not to big nut this was the best I could come up with for space and usage. Saves a lot of room in the house for other things.
December 14, 2022 at 10:47 pm #2166739I have an Engel this will be my third year with it. No issues at all with it I am a fan. A little overpriced maybe but if it last then hard to make that case. I got one of the little green aerators they use on in depth outdoors and that thing is quite and works super well. I have a power pox I plug it into when in a hard house but this year, I picked up a couple smaller power banks used for cell phones and such and attached it to the Engel. The unit does not use much juice so I think I should get some good usage out of one charge. I also have some of the regular D battery aerators in case this idea does not pan out.
December 13, 2022 at 5:49 pm #2166186I have had a hard gun case type before. Worked great for transporting in a car protected rods probably the best but took up a lot of room. Also was way big and bulky in the shack. I have settled on the Clam backpack right now. I can only get 3 rods in there at the most, but I can carry all my tackle and my helix fits in it so a lot less room is taken up. Most hard houses I have fished out of have a coat hook of some sort to hang it on and in my sled, it sits nice also. It is not perfect and maybe a little expensive but for me it seems to work the best.
December 13, 2022 at 5:34 pm #2166180I have a helix 7 G3 this will be my third year on it I like it a lot no complaints on the unit so far. If you do go that route, be sure to add about $100 more to the budget due to the SLA battery it comes with only lasting about 4 hours. I got a Marcum brute battery and have never had to charge while fishing. I got the brute from watching reviews on the batteries on ice hole power you tube page and decided that was the best one.
December 6, 2022 at 5:42 am #2164110I have had a Ryobi for going on my 4th year. I have had no issues and all of my other tools are Ryobi so that is why I went with that brand. I also have the 9-amp hour battery and it works great with it. I run an 8-inch pistol bit.
January 29, 2022 at 8:24 pm #2094721I have a Legend XL Jason Mitchell version not sure there is a lot of difference from the regular legend XL other that the color. But I like it a lot. Been using it for 2 years when its just me I don’t pack much. I am a bigger guy and there is plenty of room for a few holes and a heater. I am a big fan of it! I have a Eskimo 650 hub when I go with more people.
January 11, 2021 at 8:48 am #2004818I picked up a Jason Mitchell version I think its about the same thing just different colors. I am very happy with it. Only used it a few times but alot of room for a 1 man!
Heavier that I thought it might be but I can still lift it in the truck by myself
