usmarine0352 I really like the way Mags look; they build their own blanks, right?

Incorrect they do not make their blanks they come from overseas like everyone else. Most of the guys will design a blank to their specs and then mass produce order in bulk. I have had conversations with one of the owners of 2b(Elliot) and spoke with Pat at the ice show this season about his blanks.
Both quality rods and both with very high standards.

The 2b savant is a helluva walleye stick. Haven’t fished the Elliot walleye rods but the panfish rods are top tier and the syncork is awesome

I love my striker headwaters however I have really been eyeing the blackfish bibs.
The strikers are believe it or not almost to warm for me and the blackfish almost seem more mobile and lighter.

Was using my big buddy today and it would work as normal but after about 4 or 5 minutes it would cut out, would not restart until you heard it click after a few minutes, then it would fire back up but do the same thing! Anyone have similar issues? Do these use a thermocoupler? T.I.A. also tried a new full tank and same result

Are you running it with a big tank or just singles?
Sometimes I have weird issues when I run a 20 but don’t have a single on the other side.

Peric really screwed it up when he lost Justin Jenkens and assorted meats he is a gold mine and probably one of the best fishermen not included in this group.

A lot of it always depends on weather.
But in the metro usually Minnetonka and Prior get enough travel you can fish them throughout the season.

As far as up north I would highly recommend macs twin bay for Mille lacs or rocky reef. They both do great jobs of updating their conditions on FB also appledorns is top notch. As far as leech I would use acorn hill or horseshoe bay lodge both do amazing job of plowing wheelhouse spots.
As far as red you can’t really go wrong with Jr’s or west winds. Both do great jobs of updating and plowing.

If you are going to fish outside a lot or hole hope I would stick with monofilament line. I am not brand specific but I also find mostly suffix in tackle.

I run 2lb for panfish and 6 for walleyes

I would for sure use Horseshoe bay lodge. They make a ton of roads to great areas.

St. Croix River above the dam in Taylors Falls. Camp sites are along the river and on islands.

I don’t have any knowledge of the st croix can you run a bigger motor in this area or is it dicey?

I would go with the savant hands down wouldn’t hesitate to buy another. Really versatile rod for crappies and up to 25” walleyes. I would recommend the savant over many competitor rods in a heartbeat too.

The only inline I’ve ever liked!

Awesome. I’ve been doing research and I like it a lot and the design think it will be a good fit

I own the noodle lite and the lite bite 2.
Never fished the 2b rod. All I know is that the syncork makes a huge difference in feel.
I fished the TUCR bullwhip two years ago and picked up the noodle lite so that my wife could use the bull whip and during one outing while I was cutting holes she tried the Elliot and now the bullwhip collects dust. Had to go out and buy her the lite bite 2.

Twin cities area or beyond. Would like to have for weekend.

Bad timing, I know, just throwing it out there.

I have one I’d sell for 500. Lights, travel cover, sled runners and battery tray.

Yup!, mine just came today. Going to build an Ice pole from PVC and save the one that comes with it for the boat. Also plan on using the included 20ah batt to power JUST the MEGA Live on my boat. the graph(s) will be run on my regular AGM for all my electronics. Cant wait to try it on ice!

Where did you find the kit at?

You will not be disappointed with either purchase.
I will be interested to see which one you favor by the end of the season.

I currently have both rods and the bullwhip collects dust unfortunately. I love the Elliot rods.

What would you be upgrading from?
I have fished the 28 and for the price point I would much rather have my helix 7. I just don’t think it is worth it, guys talk about the zoom and the different modes but I just don’t think my friends and even my times fishing with 28 justify the extra 350-400 over my flx 12.
If you want to upgrade you want newer tech. Having a unit with gps and 2d and flasher mode is really nice. 2d sonar will really grow on you.
Just my opinion. When early ice hits I would be more than happy to sync up and have you try the 28 and helix before you buy.

I’m also on the Muck Arctic pro bandwagon but I will say socks are important. They don’t breath well so pick a nice merino wool sock in my opinion to help wick sweat.

Even with an embarrassing loss the Gophers are 6-3. Can anyone tell me who would be better off as coach?

Much better off directing that hostility towards M. Zimmer roll

The problem is they lose games where they should absolutely win in a fashion that makes teams embarrassed if we are such a great program. We get trapped.
Fleck is a great motivator and puts on a great show but something about the guy worries me. I think he can coach up motivation but cannot coach the X and O’s.

It seems like the last few years by that time your Best bet will be red lake and pulled by a wheeler probably through a resort for a small fee. Few years ago we drove 1/2 tons out by that weekend but this fall has been much different. That being said it happens pretty fast up there and just hope for no snow.
