Not too hi jack, but if you happen to find two of them, I’d take one off your hands

If you have such a good relationship with Merc,
why are you dealing with ” Crank and Start ” in the first place ?

My thoughts exactly? Sorry Mr. Fellegy but you’ve lost a lot of respect from me for pulling a stunt like this. You made a bad purchase. Suck it up and move on.

I had a the high speed fuel pump go out on an 07 F60. It intermittently acted up like your describing. I was told by the mechanics that it’s a common problem if you’ve ever ran the boat out of gas. I had a faulty gas gauge and had ran it out of gas twice.

I’m no mechanic but I figured I’d throw this experience out there.

For those wondering, I’ve had a Terrova and now an Xi5 in the past two years so I feel confident in my opinions.

The Xi5 anchor mode is hands down better than Minn Kota. It’s not even close. But, that isn’t to say the Xi5 is problem free unit, I’ve had issues with both. Minn Kota has a much nicer remote and the cruise control is much better as well.

So how is the auto pilot on the Xi5?

I haven’t used it much, rarely do I want to go in a straight line but it seems to work fairly well. To be truthful, my bowmount is used almost exclusively on anchor mode to pitch or vertical jig

I’ve got a Hds 7 gen 2 (not touch) and a Gen 1 HDS 5 if those are something you’d consider working into a trade?

They bought Lakemaster around 2012, that’s the last year Lakemaster made a Lowrance chip.

Your chips won’t work in Humminbirds, however they should be easy to sell due to no longer being in production.

Socoeyechaser/07lowchamp…one question. You have a rail right there! Why put holes in the boat? To each there own, and I’m sure you both have a good reason. I just need to hear it.

I personally love drilling holes in my boat, it means I’m getting some cool new toy!

Have you spent any time fishing the new handles? I didn’t care for them at all to start with but now I love them. Just a thought.

Time. Patience. Acceptance that populations cycle. Slots that’s target more than a single year class…

I use it when I remember too, which is not often. I feel regular oil changes are more important than fuel additives to motor longevity.

I thought the same thing with the rain last weekend, didn’t stop a single boat…

It was pretty slow down there by normal standards.

I prefer two. Nice to have one on the bow so your not looking over your shoulder constantly. Keep your eyes on the Walleye Central swap board, lots of good used units for sale. Might be able to swing a good deal.

Personally I’d have 3, 2 on the wheel or tiller do you can run gps on a separate unit. Personal preference but it’s sure nice

Don’t anchor. Drift with the current to stay vertical, use your trolling motor to adjust for wind and boat drift vs jig drift

Any idea what is causing this expedited change? I’ve got no opinion on it, bit it’s odd for the government to do anything quickly.

No need for a full choke. Ditch parrots aren’t too hard to knock down especially with lead shot. If what you’ve got is working stick with it. If not I would look at buying a barrel threaded for choke tubes. Modified would be preferable to Full if going with a fixed barrel.

FWIW I shoot an O/U 16 ga with fixed modified chokes and have never felt under gunned

    Here we go…

Don’t fish 70′. Don’t fish in 50 or 40 either. Lots of good fish to be caught in the 20′ range as well as much shallower.

Is it possible that the lock side is split into both states possession to eliminate potential issues? Then the sliver of land between the Lock and Dam is MN again? Of course then the 2nd split would be center of the river channel. Stupid and ridiculous idea I know..but that wouldn’t stop of the state

    1. No, I change every 2, sometimes I flip it over onto another reel.

    2. Yes, I like to use whatever old mono I have laying around. Mainly I use backing to help fill the spool so the amount varies. I use less braided line this way.

    3. I’ll use a mono leader when jigging in clear water. But I avoid it if I don’t feel it will help get more bites.

    4. Palomer knot is the quickest and easiest way to attach braid to terminal tackle

People do what’s comfortable for them. The typical ice fishing grip gives more control and is much quicker for setting the hook. Works fine with longer rods as well.

Slip bobber rods are all about being soft enough and long enough to lob baits on long casts without throwing the bait from the hook. The added length is great when picking up slack on hooksets as well.

I really like a St.Croix Premier 7’6″ Medium Light Fast action. If I were to buy a rod dedicated to bobbers I’d look at going to 8’+

2 days too many on ice

Not sure on open water, best guess would be 65-75
