I planned on using my live scope on open water mainly for crappie fishing is why I was asking about a pole mount. Thanks Corey, I’ll check out Summit’s site. Matt I’ll probably give it a try on my trolling motor before ordering a pole mount. Thanks again for you input.
Sorry but they were sold without cleaning, but thanks for asking.
The rubber on them is in great shape just wanted clean them up for resale,
mwal,
As you stated secchi disk is used to measure water clarity. I was wanting to use it as a starting point for setting bobber depth for crappie fishing. Being retired on a retirement income I don’t have the resources to buy the latest toys on the market.
Anyone have any tips for finding a used snowmobile trailer? I have a buddy willing to give me a great deal on an older sled, but it seems like I’ll end up paying more for the trailer than for the sled!
I’m not looking for anything fancy, non-enclosed, room for a sled and a portable ice house would be perfect.
Is it feasible to find something for <$500?
Find someone with a worn out pop up tent camper. Strip it out to the plywood floor, install a couple of eye bolts and you have a cheap snowmoble trailer

Because a LX5 is all I own and if i’m enjoying it, it means i’m out fishing.
Marcum or Vex?
When you read on the various ice fishing sites who seems to have the most problems?
I’ll leave that assumption up to you!
fishwater,
Do you use those Mr.Clean pads with or without water?
Jarrod,
Do you notice any difference between plain frozen and vodka frozen minnows as far as firmness or difference in the bite?
As I stated before, when placed in the freezer they will jell not freeze.
I was told the shiners will jell and not freeze, thus staying firmer when using. I have used frozen and salted shiners with good results, but plan on giving this method a try.
Pushing them out from the inside of the mouth with a finger tip–then carefully–without puncturing the eyeball itself–cut the eyeball loose.
Then again, is it “legal” to use them in Mn.?

No problem Steve here in Northwest Illinois with being legal. Will have to give your method a try, thanks.

Was at L&D 13 when it was locking thru, asked the deckhand how north they were headed, he said Dubq.
When your feet get cold just change socks while the ice, keep your extra set in a gallon size zip lock baggie.
I’m sorry Dave the IP address should have been http://www.beambender.com

Another follow up question. What’s the biggest size Atv will fit in my F150?
Any suggestions on most reliable makes?

Any do or don’ts on salting and freezing? Dry salt or brine, also about how long before freezing being emerald shiners?
After reading replys and watching Joel’s video it leaves me to wonder if the buildup of methane gases which seems like you see this usually around the midwinter slump is effecting oxygen levels and if its effects it might have on a fishes eating habits during these gas bubble releases? Have any studies been done on this subject?
Glad to see your back John, always a pleasure reading your posts.

Mike,
I still fish with the old glass minnow traps I have 7 of them. They seem to outfish the metal or plastic traps, I have used all 3 and will take the glass traps over anything else. I use ground up cracker crumbs for shinner minnows.
I still have an old address and phone number for glass minnow traps. I think they are still in business.

Mike, I know you can still buy them online, but look for the traps with plastic lids, reason being sometimes sand and mud makes opening traps with metal lids kinda tough.
Mike,
I tried calling the number listed above their new number is 616-457-5867 When I called I was quoted new traps are $39.00 plus $12.00 shippng
