Biden stood by the striking workers and it paid off. There was pressure on him to invoke the Taft Hartley Act which would have screwed the workers. At least this is over with and no TP Panic LOL

Great comparison to the weekend warrior backyard trimming guy compared to someone cutting loads of firewood. That comparison is spot on.
Only electric I have used (and I was way skeptical) is the Milwaukee Pole Saw and I am now a believer. That thing cuts great and is easy to use. Might get a bit top heavy when all extensions are on but it works so well on big branches! We cleared about an acre of locust 2-4″ diameter and it delivered and I would say easier to cut that size stuff as I didnt have to bend down as far with a gas saw. If you have the big Milwaukee Battery, it will last longer than you think.

I had life/accident insurance on my better hounds which proved to be worth it when one was killed by a bear and a year later another was illegally shot while hunting.
They paid $9k and $5k respectively and cost was about $120 a year back in 2001 or so. I know its not health ins., but maybe give a perspective .

Speaking for (or in I should say) Wisconsin, it is almost always the Municipality that sets the boating regulation laws for no wake zones, ski times or no wake times as they control the land around lake. Even lakes that have no gas motors allowed are set by the Town or Municipality, NOT the County or State.
This may vary by some degree with lakes surrounded by State Land or other extenuating circumstances so it is not 100%.
What is funny is in almost all cases a warden cannot enforce a town no-wake, speed limit or whatever the rule broken was because they do not have jurisdiction. They can say “I wont fine you for the no-wake violation but I will go easy on you and get you for your battery not being secured or maybe no life jackets as those are State Laws.
same goes for the Sheriffs Dept. If the Town/Municipality doesnt contract and/or have an agreement with the Sheriffs Dept. the Sherriff cannot enforce their Town laws, only state. Sounds strange but true.

This post is why social media and internet BS (forums) are wrecking society. All that should be said here is good thing the guy is alive, not internet sleuths determining what happened from a video. Everything that happens now is real time in video, chat, etc. and other crap. This just feeds people’s craw to dig up, find whatever they can to spin a negative light on it.
Im rambling, but bottom line, why are we even discussing it?
Did people discuss when you cracked up Dads car when you were 16? Did they assume you were under the influence, driving to fast, etc.? F*** NO they didn’t.
Find something better to do with your time than find the negative in something that could have been fatal!

The best comparison is falling off a tube being the same as a motor going sideways in the video and being ripped off. I have been cracked off a tube or while barefooting at a high rate of speed (I wont even guess the MPH) and I never had anything break off. Now, of course a motor (steel) will break at a similar wipeout. SMH

this is stupid to me. It’s easier to unclip a tether than to remove the pfd, and there are more & better reasons to leave it on than to remove it.

I respectfully disagree with you on this one. My tether is a PIA to remove. I always leave it attached and take off my inflatable and leave it on the seat.

Way too many people assuming things in this whole situation. He is a tourney guy, has to have a pfd AND tether on when motor is running. very common practice and habit to do what he did.
Dude coulda died and you question taking his pfd off?????

It was indeed a 20+ glass boat, not a 18ft tin boat. It was a Skeeter FXR20.
Why are you so hellbent on not believing the story? He later posted another short video to say that they found some floating dock sections a few hundred yards away.

I agree, why does everyone call foul here? Could be a worse outcome and he wouldnt be here to describe it. Do we always have to find something wrong or find someone lying? Im glad he is OK

People actually believe the litter boxes thing? And they can vote doah

Anyways, I’m done using the super woke gender neutral bathroom with period products in my house and going back to bed.

I could care less how people dress, act or what they think they are I get a bigger kick out of how people are so obsessed with how they do the above.
The litter box thing…. One day Im fishing with a group of guys and they have this same conversation and start ranting how their school district has litter boxes and one guy even said his kid seen it and its true. I happen to know the lead Janitor for said school so I called him up, on speaker phone for the group. He said that no way there was litter boxes and there had been no discussion to put one in. The conversation got heated because one of the guys accused the janitor of calling his kid a liar. I knew then, we as a republic are doomed!

What I see now, even on Lake Pepin is this: historic and excellent 3-way and trolling locations, where EVERYONE HISTORICALLY, has been on the same page and traveled in same methodology , etc. are now blocked by a few of these individuals, that pull into the pack, spot lock, and use their new toy. The words are a flying out there for sure! VERY disrespectful.

So you are saying if you fish in this area, you must troll, in line and same direction as everyone else?
If I am new to the area and fish it different (not necessarily FFS) I am a bad egg?
Just trying to make sure I am reading it correctly.

    Here you Pennzoil guys go
    Attachments:

Yep, what I mentioned in my above post, these are the rebates I look for. Now, couple the rebate with a sale at Fleet Farm and you can do a cheap oil change yourself.

My daily vehicle with over 100k miles I change myself, I also put on 25k to 30k miles a year. The 2023 Suburban is done at dealer until out of warranty, I don’t want them questioning anything if something goes south with the engine.
I buy oil by 5qt. jugs at Fleet Farm (synthetic) when on sale or good rebate. I can usually get Mobil One at good price or lesser brand (Valvoline, Pennzoil) really cheap when you buy at right time (sale and rebate). I think i did valvoline for $16 a jug (last time) and I bought 2

My sister went through it. They entered her abdomen from the front and accessed kidneys from there. She was sore of course but healed rather quickly and it was not cancerous or whatever the word is. She is now good to go so here is hoping same for you! Good luck

Depending on how much you fry at a given time, you can get 2-3 cooks per grease. You typically have to add a little bit new grease after straining/filtering because you will lose some. Like said above, filter it while still pretty warm and after it has settled…. don’t dump the bottom dirty grease/crumbs, etc. I put back in original container in cool, dark place.
You will know immediately if it gets rancid by smelling it.

Thanks everyone, made her here, all good. Cindy at Marina is awesome and helped the wife with where to shop and me where to drink.
I blew the no wake for a bit south of Covill park or whateverbits called…..thanks to the hand gestures from guys in a boat to let me know. I didn’t mean to blow it as we never saw it. I hate being “that” guy. Thanks again!

Trump seems to be in the lead, and everyone blames Biden for high prices (even though propane is looking to have gone down). My thoughts are wouldn’t you buy after Trump wins and when the prices will go even lower? I’m part kidding but yet am curiously wondering?? Just trying to mix in some fun on a humpday!

I had same issue with hurt shoulder. PT for a year and never got better. FINALLY demanded and got an MRI and learned my labrum was torn and my AC Joint had bursitis and bone spurs. Surprisingly my Rotator Cuff was fine.
Had arthroscopic surgery to clean it up and also deliberately cut my bicep tendon.
BEST thing I ever had done, back to normal in a few months.
PT Is a stop gap that really won’t repair anything that is damaged. Get an MRI to find out

Johnsonville are WAY to greasy and fatty now for me. I think something changed over the years. However, the Stadium pre-cooked you ended up going with are very good in my opinion.
I know I will get roasted, but I was in a jam for a work potluck and I grabbed Walmart branded Marketfresh (I think name was) and WOW, was I surprised how good they were! Just food for thought.

I first started out with an old auger I took the blades off of and it worked great. Strikemaster used to sell a actually dirt auger (have one at work).
My one warning…. if it doesn’t have reverse, go SLOW. We wrapped on around a root so bad we had to dig down 3 feet to get it off said root. What a PIA that was!

I know I seen it a few places. I received an e-mail, local TV news and Facebook were the 3 places I seen it. There was already people griping about the FFS question so it was on my FB feed numerous times.
I dont feel like looking back but I thought someone mentioned it on this forum also (not 100% sure).
Either way, you should have heard of the local meetings that have been held in the counties going back at least 30 years (every year).

The other side of the coin is that this is a decent sample size, AND an online survey…with no paper option

Not sure if you are implying this is an online survey only because it is not. They actually hold in person meetings in every Wisconsin County as they have for as long as I can remember. They added the online choice but I am not sure how long ago that was.
I attended a lot of these 15-20 years ago and they were well attended. I do it online now so not sure if that affected turnout but I will assume it did.
Remember, this is just an advisory referendum with no teeth to change any law/regulation. A lot of things brought up in the past were never acted on in the State Legislature.

    Progressive and Lower Unit damage.
I hit a log that bent my prop shaft and mangled the pinion gear inside. The prop and lower unit looked fine. Once progressive seen the pictures from the outside, they hired a private adjuster/investigator to take it apart. He determined it was old age and that I didnt hit anything. The marina asked about how the prop shaft got bent and he said the pinion gear going mangled everything making shaft bend????. I had a witness in the boat and another who watched us hit and lose control of the boat.
I talked to a lawyer and essentially I would have paid as much to get money out of them as it was to just buy a $5k lower.
The investigator told me Progressive would owe him just north of $3,000 when it was all said and done….. he also said he was receiving a lot of work from Progressive as they were pushing some add on for your policy that would automatically include lower unit coverage (I never confirmed this, just what he said).
That was 2018. I switched companies and am not looking back.

Mojogunter nailed it……..I know quite a few people who despise drinking and driving yet will smoke weed and drive. The saying is I never seen weed kill anyone.
    I 100% disagree.

True flipping is what 10klakes is saying….where you pull out a certain amount of line and “flip” the bait in (with reel engaged). True flipping is what I call close quarters combat!! Heck, Denny Brauer even had a reel designed that didn’t hold much line and was made for the true flipping cast.
Everyone now pretty much refers to any kind of underhand pitch/cast/flip as flipping.
Pitching is what most would be doing in weed/grass/milfoil mats in the clearer water around the upper Midwest.

Amazon has been responsible for more job losses than Walmart could ever dream of.

Spot on! The hate for Walmart and their self checkouts is one of the most hypocritical things out there. Also, all the “local” grocery stores in my town have self checkouts and nobody hates on them…. but boy, they bash Wally.
    Ask yourself:
    1. Do you pay for gas at the pump?
    2. Order from Amazon
    3. Order from any other large online bait/marine/auto companies (Rock Auto, Tackle Warehouse, the list goes on.
If you answered yes to any of the above, you really cant sit here and bash Walmart.

Romo is a good announcer however, he oversteps his bounds on trying to tell the play before it actually happens. He takes away a lot of what Nantz is there to talk about. If you listen to the last 1 minute of overtime and right after the win, Romo wouldn’t let Nantz speak.
Halftime Show? Not my cup of tea for most part but Luda and Lil John brought it to life as did Alicia Keys as it started out stale and boring IMP they saved it. Not my Genre but it was OK to watch. I dont hate something just because its not my thing! Reminds me of when Bruno Mars did it 1st time. He was so good, i actually became a fan.

Dont forget about agricultural subsidies! A wise/successful farmer once told me that farming is a no brainer business decision because if times get tough financially, the Government bails you out.

Well you said so here we go they are not compariable, auger’s were not subsidized by the tax payer! If I’m wrong I apoligize.

Nice try, but I wasnt talking about tax payer subsidies OR Gov. mandates. I was talking about the hate for lithium and how it doesnt work for cars but powers numerous devices all are using while complaining.
On another note, the Government has been offering subsidies/handouts for years on similar things…. cash for clunkers was a program I remember…. also appliance swaps for more efficient appliances, etc..
I guess some never take government money, I apologize.

People love to complain about switching to EV cars but yet virtually everyone on here is already using a battery powered auger. Its hypocrisy at its finest. Same with lithium batteries for a boat. The part I don’t care for is when the government MAKES people switch through mandating it, like California is doing in the future. I think people should be able to make this decision on their own based on need, demand, and use because an EV doesn’t make sense for every driver on the road.

SPOT ON! Now, numerous will say comparing a phone/auger to a car is not comparing apples to apples….. they must use different lithium! LMAO

The hate for EV’s in this forum is so deep. I always ask why do you care? Why be so negative? His son is excited and they make it work…. does someone question every move some of you make when you buy something they dont agree with? have a cup of coffee and scroll on vs. trying to make this the most negative thing ever.
