His development has been pretty solid upto this crazy season…The kid has had 2 normal seasons since getting drafted, he was a 19 year old AHL allstar in 2022-23 with 6 goals and 32 assists in 55 AHL games, then in the 2023-24 season he mostly split between AHL/NHL and had 8 goals and 21 assists in 72 games (43 NHL/29 AHL) and then added 3 goals and 8 assists in 14 AHL playoff games. Then the Management team that drafted him was fired/gutted in Feb 2024 and the new regime wanted to go in a different direction so there was drama that offseason/training camp and they ultimately traded him to us and he spent this season ping ponging between the AHL/NHL for Columbus and Wild organizations…

like I said, the kid needs a normal offseason to reset knowing he’s in a place that wants him. By all accounts, he’s really happy here sofar… The latest becoming Wild focused on Iowa Wild and showed some of this with his fellow Czech teammates…

This was also a trade for 1-2 seasons down the road when Spurgeon needs to be replaced…yes Billy took a risk, but he felt it was worth it knowing where the Wild would likely draft the next X amount of years if his plan works out and there would be no chance to draft an offensive RH shot Defenseman with size in that pick range…

And you have confidence in the wild to develop him for 1-2 years down the road. At this point I do not. It’s not as if their track record is real great in this department. They have literally developed 1 player in BG’s time and he is always on the trading block.
Watching more games than playing at 21 isn’t exactly the best way to develop.
I understand there was circumstances at play.

I would worry about any first round picks development at 21. Especially a dman with the wild.

So how many games did he actually work on his game after he was traded. Between Iowa and MN?

Well the whole league has a golden opportunity. Torts is back on the head coach market after the Flyers fire his @ss with 9 games left..

Or owners, double your fun and make Torts your next GM. Act now.

Would love to know the details of what happened between him and Cam York.

Interesting news conference from Kwesi. Sounds like door is not shut on Rogers. Reason they haven’t signed Vet QB is they want to keep comp pick for next year so if they wait till the draft then they don’t lose that. Made it sounds like the plan is to move forward with JJ but just like when Farbe signed this could come late with Erin if it happens. Let’s hope JJ shows he has enough goods this summer.

Quality of play contributes to attendance here. Sorry has to be something worthwhile to watch a 5 hour baseball game. Put something on the field worthwhile and it would put butts in the seats.
Do you think the wolves had sell outs in years past. I can attest going to a game that you could hear was squeaking shoes because nobody was there.

Wow! Nothing like escalating well beyond what has been asked for! No doubt it’s far from passing and will likely be amended.

“Nash, Fischer, Lillie and Skraba introduced:

    H. F. 2824, A bill for an act relating to game and fish; providing for a continuous open season for taking largemouth and smallmouth bass; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 97C.395.

The bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy.”

Is this different from what was discussed for 5 pages.

Yeah let’s buy more guys out sounds like a great 5 year plan. Doesn’t the cap go up like 42x and Hartman deal looks like 2 million deal now.

As long as he hasn’t signed and the Vikes haven’t signed another QB there is a possibility. He clearly had no interest in the Giants. Can’t blame him. His options are the Steelers and Vikes and neither has made a move yet.

    1) Rossi + Boldy + Heidt for Tage Thompson & JJ Peterka (Buffalo needs to re-shuffle/shakeup their roster, this trade would absolutely do it. I think it’s more of an even trade than most think when they first look at it and the caphits are likely pretty even if not saves the Wild some $ allowing the Wild to add another big UFA this summer)

Why would buffalo want to make this trade? Just because they are Buffalo?

    2) Rossi + Ohgren + Heidt + Gaudreau + 2025 2nd round draft pick for Matt Barzal (needs to be medically cleared) I know Barzal is the Islanders cornerstone player, but the Islanders are an aging team and needs to start a rebuild with a bare prospect pool, Barzal will just be wasted on that roster the next 6 years and Lou can fast track the rebuild with the Wild prospect package and Freddy gives them a good interim bottom 6 veteran player at a very low aav to play during their rebuild… 2 recent 1st and 2 recent 2nd round picks and a solid cheap veteran for 6 years of $9aav Barzal coming off a season long injury…

Nope. Don’t see what the wild are gaining here except dumping Freddy.

    awesome post! Thanks for playing!

Oh so you are the only holy one that can have an opinion on a made up trade that you sit all day and think about and then actually take time out of your day to write up an actual article about it. Awesome trades go wild. Go Joe.

Why? The Huskers have spent hundreds of millions of their basketball facilities and Hoiberg can’t get a team to the tourney. They also have a massive NIL collective. They’ve underachieved with him as coach.

Getting into the tourney sure but they are not out spending a third of the big ten in basketball and not even close to some of the bigs in the college basketball world. It’s still Nebraska when you are talking basketball. Not exactly where kids are thinking about playing BBall.
Don’t disagree Hoiberg has been a disappointment but were they not third in the big ten last year? I don’t think they are going to be perennial big ten champs in basketball ever. I could be wrong but some pretty high paying and big time programs in the big ten or 20 whatever it is now.

Weird you bring this up. I’m in the DR currently. Was sitting next to a Canadien. Waiter bar tender asked where everyone was from she said Canada and he says to her oh the Americans. She was appalled and I had to listen to her complain about the US. He asked me and I said the states and he says oh the Americans. He then tried to explain to her that Mexico Canada Us is the Americans to him and them. She didn’t like that by the way. He then went on that he loved all Americans. I smiled while she bitched and tip the guy generously on my next drink.

Kind of reminds me of Cheach and Chong when they sing Mexican American song. jester

I wonder if they even have the cap space to sign him. They’re apparently capped out right down to the pennies if Kirill and Ek are coming back.

And if he goes right from regionals to the NHL, is he like packing extra clothes and stuff expecting to lose out early? How many hours to get that contract signed before the team heads back to Denver?

How many PP shifts until he is QB? whistling

The Huskers women made it…the men choked down the stretch and didn’t. A lot of people want to see Hoiberg gone. He hasn’t done much and has more money and better facilities than almost any school in the country.

    That’s a bold statement no?

I would take Colorado State Coach for the Gophers. Sounds like he might bring some of his players too. Would be a huge win for the program and make them at least exciting going into next year.

Odds are Zeev Buium’s college career come to an end this Saturday (Denver plays Providence in round 1 then #1 Boston College on Saturday…. His Regional is in New Hampshire so he could sign and easily fly to NJ and possibly be in the Wild’s lineup next Monday vs the Devils…. I just don’t know who they would pull out of the lineup to play him? I can’t remember the Wild’s Defenseman status when Faber played right after signing? Did we have injuries he filled in for?

Well he is not taking Brodin or Middelton’s spot on the top four on left side so that slots him in bottom pair for Merril at the moment.
Pretty sure Faber played in Dumbas spot in his first game if I remember correctly. Maybe it was Addison though.

Exactly just like a Zebco and daredevil. Guess what there is more to life as well. I don’t regret eating a steak either and thinking man I should have just bought a jar of peanut butter and loaf of bread. Some days sure. Most days I’m glad I picked a steak and it’s never given me a headache.

Sorry but a steak dinner is better than a PB&J sandwich.

Taste maybe. Size and quantity, No where even close. I catch more 40″+ pike in one Canada trip than I have in a lifetime in Minnesota. I catch more walleye in a day than I do in the whole year here in Minnesota.

Simply not true. Plenty of places that would rival any Canadian lake. Especially for walleye.

And if you still think tariffs are to make everything made in the US (especially Canadian tariffs)I have some ocean front property to sell you.
