He had/has the worst customer service of any auger company EVER !! Then he comes out with a new one, makes it the highest priced auger on the market and then he expects to sell them ?

Awesome fish….congratulations! I see that you did well on the chrome blue jigging rap. we’re you guys able to get any fish going on the rattle baits at all? I am hoping to get over ther for a few days this week. It’s going to be my first time on the ice there and I can’t wait!

Don’t waste your time with those rattle baits , all you need are a few jigging raps and little Cleos , unless you wanna mark a bunch of junk fish

Plenty of big fish being caught of Camp Perry. We landed 4 over 10lbs last trip 20-24ft water. Stay away from any south winds. I pmed you my number, give me a shout when your coming and I’ll give you a update on conditions here. Im heading out the next two days. If I were you id plan a trip thru the week, because theres only access off Catawba and Camp Perry right now, unless you fly over to the islands, and weekends are a ZOO. I don’t even bother going on weekends anymore.

mudhole sells a nice a cork grip on the ice page for 5.95 best price around and its plugged on the end already, and its a very small bore hole. I live 10 mins from Janns and they want 9.99 for the same grip and you have to plug it

you can just sand the paint off and have a nice gray matte finish like normal carbon, or try sportsmensdirect, they have some nice carbon blanks also

I just put gray carpet in my lodge , it’s also keeps stuff from sliding around as easy, just put a couple bolts and fender washers up front so I can replace after its full of walleye juice ….

Thats a valid point about less ice build up and easier removal. I never thought about that. Thanks

Yes I just finished putting my together this weekend and mine is very tight. I can get the wind poles in when I have the poles in the shorter extension position, but not in the second position. My front pole is off the ground about 3 inches.

im waiting for my hyfax to come in before I put it together. Im pretty sure you could squeeze 3 seats in there, you might not be able to swivel all the way around backwards.I would call OTTER just to be sure. But I see guys with the sportsmens caddy between the seats and theres still room on both sides of the seat, so I would think it would fit. IF you don’t find out I will have mine together hopefully in the next few days and I have a extra seat base to snap in and ck it out for yah.

why not just add another seat to the 1200, after having a thermal cabin then going to a xt650 lodge, I was disappointed, frosty walls and the foam on that bench seat is terrible after awhile. Theres a brand new xt1200 lodge in the garage, I can never go back to non thermal now….

use a anti-glare screen protector for a laptop and stick it on your snowshield it does help a little. I put it on my screen and the snowshield

Planning a trip to Lake Erie for giant Walleyes this winter. Time to update the gear. Any ideas? Line Rod and Reels.

I think its personal preference on rods , but I used medium action rods with a softer tip , with 6lb test with smaller jigging raps and cleos and we caught a lot of 10lb plus walleye on Erie from the 2003 hatch, I know of 4 – 15lb caught this past season. I think last year was a record year for Ohio Erie ice fishing , ive never seen so many people or so many big fish caught… We went 3 years without good ice until last season, and I just hope we get some fishable ice this year. I caught 90 percent of my fish on blue chrome jigging raps, and the biggest fish came on a w2, but most days I used the w3. I know a lot of guys like to use the bigger baits, but with those smaller baits, most fish I marked took it without hesitation.

I made a quick release bucket/milk crate holder for the back, just take out 2 pins and its off in a few seconds. I made it out of a old piece of ladder from a treestand.

I was in the same boat when I just bought my new Lodge a few days ago and a fellow at a fishing store told me to get a frabil predator cover, they are a lot nice than otters. I will attest to that, its better than my old cabin cover, has a zipper on the top, goes a lot further down the side of the sled protecting the canvas hanging over, and has a strap you tighten also besides the bungee.

I haven’t had any problems yet but mine is behind a windshield also. I usually keep a towel around the back of it if its snowing.

I have one and I love it, but I never pull my stuff by hand, if I did I would use another case. I haven’t found any other case that holds as many combos that you don’t have to break down the handles. Make sure you get the insert you want if you get one, there are two different ones, and the one for longer rods, holds more combos imo.
