can’t stand those things. I’m seeing a few in my garden as well. I’ve always wondered if chickens could help, but they probably do more harm than good. I also thought about a free range chicken coop under my apple trees. if you bump the tree, they’d come raining down into to coop and hopefully be eaten… Good luck!
May 10, 2023 at 2:12 pm #2201821anyone know if the lift bridge is operational? and if not how much room between the water and the bridge? can you get under it?
May 3, 2023 at 3:53 pm #2200690Thanks MOJO. I was thinking exactly what you described. The times I’ve fished there in August I was on and around Oconto shoal pulling cranks or blades. Mixed results of coarse. 12 to 25 ft. I usually do one day “windows maker” trip…leaving at 3 am and returning same day late. never had the time to slow down and try to put a good pattern together. Again usually caught some fish and some days were really good. Thanks again! LMK if you go and how the bite is and I’ll do the same!
April 30, 2023 at 7:43 pm #2199947Heard from a buddy who was out yesterday. 1 eye 1 cat 1 sheep. slow. I checked out a launch north of hudson just to see water clarity. appears to be clearing up nicely. might give it a whirl next Friday…by kayak if the launches remain closed.
May 23, 2021 at 8:29 pm #2038469Hey chappy,
Thanks for the report. Sounds like you had a little excitement up there! How was the launch? I dont have a flawless boat but I’m always weary of going somewhere and not knowing what the launch is like. This is one of my bucket list spots. I was thinking more mid summer because the water is so cold. Anyway nice report(not sure how you got it blocked out lol). Best of luck fishing!
March 14, 2021 at 11:39 am #2022070I fished out of Oconto last year. 35-40 mts from the stadium. Nice launch. Kinda far especially if you’re fishing in the fox River…
March 14, 2021 at 10:25 am #2022058Not trying to hijack the thread here but…when does the bite go to off shore vs up the rivers? Maybe now!?!?!
August 4, 2020 at 6:40 pm #1962857Trolling or did you find a jigging opportunity?
I trolled crank baits. Lots of people pulling blades. Saw a few guys jigging…tuff all over….
August 3, 2020 at 9:14 pm #1962680Well…I gave it a shot…drove over on Saturday. Weather was beautiful. Boat launch was busy but good. Fishing was slow. Zero wind. Ground out 4 fish. Lost a wheel bearing just after leaving Oconto. Left the boat over there…good news is I’m going back Friday to “pick up the boat”…wify thinks this is all a scam to fish over there again….she may be on to something…
July 31, 2020 at 2:53 pm #1961954Thanks for the info. Oconto is actually one of the spots I was thinking of by just looking at Google maps… as far as where I’m fishing, I haven’t got that far yet. I know it’s a huge body of water. I’m guessing there are fish in many different locations? Thanks again!
July 11, 2020 at 10:25 am #1956466Do you store the boat in heated storage or cold? I have seen multiple 04-05 pro-v’s with broken strainer caps and hoses on the wash down system. Easiest way to find is too hook a hose up on the inlets on the back of the boat. You can also check your livewells this way. Turn the water on and leave the rear plug out crank the jack down so there is some slope to the rear. You should also be able to hear it in the boat if it is leaking.
An update and a break thru…I’ve been using the boat and living with the bilge pump running while camping over the last few months. Finally got a weekend at home to take a closer look. I bought a simple double female hose to pipe fitting adapter and hooked it up to all the screened pump inlets at the back of the boat. Hooking it to the washdown pump inlet resulted in the drain hole hemorrhaging water. After looking and listening, I determined the leak to be under the fuel tank…the wash down pump hasn’t worked in a few years(lack of use) so a simple plug will solve this ongoing mystery. Thanks again everyone for your responses.
May 22, 2020 at 7:11 am #1944063Thanks for all the tips everyone. I did find a loose hose. I tightened the clamp but have yet to do an on the water test. The saga continues! I appreciate all the feedback!!
April 26, 2020 at 9:59 am #1937835Please put your phone # on your stuff!!
Another good call… I better check and see if it has a phone number on it
April 25, 2020 at 9:20 pm #1937765I had an 03 vmax. It leaked hydraulic out of the tilt trim. After a tip from a mechanic, he said loosen the fill hole cap and lower and raise the motor. It kinda poops a buncha fluid out but it did work. I was up on Mille lacs with no trim, added fluid, tried this technique and was up and running again. Hopefully someone smarter than me will chime in here. Good luck!
April 25, 2020 at 9:15 pm #1937762Agreed
Why not say exactly where you found it? I was within an hour of Stillwater with the boat today and now you have me paranoid to go take inventory lol
I hope it wasn’t on Hwy 8, or I’ll have to go check the boat
Yeah, reread my post… maybe I’m being too vague. Found it on Hwy 65 north of star prairie. Good call.
March 11, 2020 at 6:47 am #1921841I dont see it as hoarding. Its capitalism. When I see a fisherman scratching at his back side…I see an opportunity…
March 10, 2020 at 9:53 pm #1921810We just ordered a case(80 rolls) off Amazon. It was deliver in 2 days(today). I told my wife if times get tuff, it could be used to barter with…

May 18, 2018 at 4:09 pm #1775504You need reading glasses. Welcome to your 40’s. Sorry bud, this is what happens. Lighting can make a difference, but you can’t fight nature. Your symptoms will only get worse with time too. Do yourself a favor and visit your optometrist.
Yeah, I knew this day would come. An eye Dr visit went thru my mind. I’ve used a few techniques outlined in this thread and they did help…or my eyes are adjusting…
May 16, 2018 at 10:47 am #1775056Thanks everyone. I’ve adjusted the resolution, tipped the screen down, and look away from it when I can. Eyes feel better today. I’m considering glasses to block what ever it is they block…i may contact our safety or erganomics departments and see if they have any solutions. Thanks again!
May 15, 2018 at 9:53 pm #1774946Thanks Sharon! I will try that! I’m hoping they will adjust in time. Today was day 5 at a desk.
