Wild to make the posts he makes while actively hoping for US tourism to his lodge. Some things are better left un said, or kept between your group and not on forums. But self control is tough some times. I struggle some days as well. But I’m not trying to pimp my business.

    Agreed.

Trumps 3rd Tern – Steve Bannon

Canadian Woman Jasmine Mooney detained for 11 days – CBS

Detentions at US border prompt UK, Germany, and Nordic nations to revise travel advice – USA Today

I guess the difference is, you can now be “detained” at the border without ANY due process – just held in limbo – no lawyers, no charges, until the ICE teams figures out if you might be some kind of a threat.

Nothing from FOX News yet – guess they have’nt figured how to make Trump look good on “detentions” of innocent people from other countries yet.

“Wild” posts are just an FYI – of what is happening to the USA, and how the current administration is ENDING all of the alliances with other countries it once had.

I was just hoping Common Sense would prevail in the US – and people would object to their government declaring WAR on Canada and other countries.

Guess not – GL with Trump – I will do as all of the other companies are doing now in Canada – look to within, and other countries to do business with.

Yes Original posts were to “pimp” – promote – business – I didnt realize then the intentions of Trump to Take over Canada

You’al be happy – wont post again

I don’t blame Canada for their response. I feel bad for the citizens of both countries who will be the ones to feel the pain while their idiot “leaders” continue the pissing match.

    100% Right.

Yes sad Trump has attacked Canada and other countries with an Economic War and the citizens of those countries and the USA will pay the price.

A Canadian Government official just announced a Travel Advisory to warn Canadians to travel to the USA only if absolutely necessary.

Also Germany just announced a travel warning about visiting the USA

A dangerous place for travellers right now with ICE on the warpath – some Canadians and German visitors have been rounded up and detained – Canadian actress for 10 days in a”shithole cell” she said, a German businessman put in chains – Yikes.

Not sure what will become of border crossings , likely easier and quicker as fewer people will be crossing in either direction for likely at least the next 4 years, maybe longer as Trump staffers are going to announce he will run for a third term – he is going to change the “rules” on POTUS terms.

    Hahaha

I have been collecting “hardware” for 40 years now , inherited most of it, from a farm I bought and had for about 10 years, and 3 other houses with good sized garages that I have owned.

All of them had pails, cans, Wooden boxes, bin organizers etc full of mixed up hardware.

I just couldn’t leave them behind, every time I moved I kept bring the pile of em, probably over 100lbs of stuff – so finally last winter, really bored, no snow or ice, I bit the bullet.

I bought 50 new clear plastic Plano organizer trays for all of my fishing tackle, lures, and I took all the old empty ones and spent a week in the garage.

I now have a wall of Plano boxes , with every sized wood screw, nut, bolt, pin, washer, this that and the other thing, organized by size, type etc.

My own little hardware store – Lol

Catch and release has a mortality factor.

It doesn’t matter how prepared and experienced an angler is, sometimes hooking and landing a fish kills it.

Fishing for Spawning Bass, Walleye, Pike, Lake Trout , any fish species really is like shooting Ducks in a Barrel – they are all congregated together in one spot.

So catch numbers will be Way higher when angling for spawning fish vs other times of the year, and catch and release has a mortality factor.

So angling for any species while they are spawning will kill way more fish than any other time of the year, even if they are all released.

Closed seasons during spawn , will definitely maintain fish populations better than no closed seasons for spawning.

Populations are booming , guess it don’t matter, populations struggling, it will hurt the numbers more.

Depends on the make of the Braid used.

Some braided lines just do not work well with spinning gear, I have tried a dozen or so makes, only ever liked a few.

One of those is Suffix 832 and I am sponsored by them – so I use 832 – and find the 8lb up to 30lb work well with spinning gear.

Often line twist causes issues with spinning reels – if your in a boat, cut the last couple feet off the line and let almost all the line out behind the boat – troll the line fast enough to put a large bend on the rod so the drag from the water pulls the twists out for a few minutes, reel in while line is under tension.

Line twist will be totally gone.

That one was on an Epic day this summer in mid June.

We ran into a school of big females while fishing for Lakers.

That was one of 9 consecutive Walleye over 27″ – it was a 32′ and the largest was a 33’5″

A crazy hour of one giant walleye after another – not the norm on Kipawa, usually we get the odd big one mixed in with the smaller walleye.

All caught tossing jigs – Cabelas 5″ Ghost Go To Swim minnow on a 3/8oz VMC Sleek Jig/ Fathead color.

My favorite paddle tail search bait for walleye – accounted for almost all the over 25″ walleye in the past few years as well as a few bruiser, Pike, Smallmouth and Lakers.

Cabelas GO TO Swim Monnow – in 5″ – I find the natural colors mimic baitfish well.

Paired with a VMC Sleek Jig – 3/8 and 1/4 oz

This bait has accounted for 90% of walleye over 28″ over the past 4 years.

I also use the 3.5″ sometimes , gets some more action when the bite is off.

x2 on the Mini Bolt cutters if your fishing for Muskie or Pike.

I Hooked a 15 lb Muskie years ago out fishing on my own with the dog, and it hit a Double Buck tandem hook bucktail, only one hook of the back 6/0 treble was thru the tip of the snout – sooo I figure no need to net him, I will just reach over to the water with some needle nose pliers and grab the lure, quick twist and she will be off.

Well I got the pliers about an inch from the lure and the Muskie launched itself up out of the water straight at my face, I leaned back just in time and stunned a bit to watch the fish falling back into the water, where my hand still was with the pliers in it.

Hook number 2 on the lure goes straight thru the back of my hand, pliers fly out into the lake and now my arm is doing a figure 8 with an angry 15 lb muskie attached to my hand – one treble in my hand and one in his snout.

I drop the rod, reach over the side and grab the lure with my other hand, and lift the fish thrashing into the boat, now he is flipping and flopping on the floor and the treble in the back of my hand is making horrible crunching sounds and the pain has me seeing black.

I pin the Muskie with my knee finally , get her to stop thrashing , take a pause and look around for help – nope , no boats anywhere, I look at Billy the dog, “get me the other pliers” – he wags his tail – poop.

I look closely at my predicament , one hook through the back of my hand the tip of the point out my palm, the barb buried in the middle somewhere, the other treble hook with a point through the snout in a really tough part with barb right thru attached by a very heavy wire.

I finally hang the fish on the walk thru windshield of the boat by the protruding hook points of the treble in her mouth to take the weight off my hand, reach into the glove box with the other and get the little side cutters.

After many attempts I finally get the wire attaching me to fish cut, and was able to remove the hook from the Muskie and release her.

Off to the hospital afterwards were the doc had to send someone out to the local hardware store for mini bolt cutters to get the hook out of my hand.

Ever since the Mini bolt cutters reside in a tool holder near the helm – LOL.
