I don’t think a jump pack cares what kind of battery it’s jumping.

The warning is to not jump something with a lithium battery. If the BMS can’t handle it you’ll fry it and the battery.

Since we’re talking valves, it’s a good practice to work every valve in your house once a year.

It’s too late for that! I’m not touching anything unless I have to because there will be something wrong with it lol

Used to go to Mexico every winter but haven’t for many years because I don’t want to board two dogs. I liked going but the cold is much worse after you come back! Doesn’t really bother me just being here.

Over half the country is giddy and the other’s are clueless.

Quite the claim when he got slightly less than half the popular vote and only about 2/3rd of the eligible voted.

Not completely. Litime says the self heating works down to -4. There are some temps the self heating can’t overcome. I realize in a boat it’s going to be pretty rare or never to need to charge that low though.

Another thing is it says to use charge above 10a to use the self heating. Anybody actually tried to see if a 10a onboard will activate the heating?

It’s been sorted out for some time.

They make heated lithiums, they cost more but can be charged in the cold.

Turn off the waterunder sink, disconnect hot, and turn it on into a bucket. If you have good flow it’s probably cartridge in faucet. If you don’t then maybe deposits or broken gasket in supply line so you can disconnect that and repeat test into bucket.

I search Amazon for Audew Jump starter and came back with nothing. Are you talking about the Andeman which is on sale for $53.99. The same Noco is $299

    Audew is Andeman now.

The Noco has the best marketing, but generally was rated in the middle of the pack for real life application. They do seem to be one of the more durable looking ones though.

Noco having all the X-connect adapters that work with all their chargers and jump starters is the main reason I stick with them. If I was only going to jump stuff I could get clamps on, like a car, I don’t think they’re anything too special.

Everyone already said AGM is lead-acid but here is straight from Noco if it makes you feel better.

I guess not supposed to be used or stored in temps below -4. Any experience with that big_g?

Mine has been stored in truck outdoors year round for 6 or 7 years now. I charge it maybe twice a year and it worked a few months ago.

Personally I’d just use a lifepo4 battery and take it home with me to charge. A 50ah is compact and weighs about 12lbs so it’s not hard to do. Don’t need the cost/hassle of solar, don’t need to worry about charging temps or pay more for one with self heating that may not even work. Wire it with 1 or 2 SAE connectors for quick connect/disconnect to your shack system and charging, have two to potentially do both at same time.

I plan to test it with solar to see if solar power will provide enough heat for warmth and to keep them topped off.

Check the specs of battery and it should tell you how many amps it needs to activate heating, some of them need 10 or more amps which is about worthless for small solar system in winter.

18 years of the same prices was a pretty good run I guess.

    Reviving an old one…

I found this looking for trail camera mounts and was about to make them but, being lazy, I found these and ordered 8 of them for $14. Still need hanger bolts but should come out equally cheap. Only downside I see is the short length of the camera end but should be OK for mine if the hanger bolt is long enough to space it away from tree. Giant key fob for scale…

Personally, I like to spend a bunch more just to save a little on shipping.

I didn’t know it was possible to spend under the free shipping amount!

Disaster dog just had surgery to remove stomach obstruction. It’s pretty dang expensive doah

Hard to figure out the math exactly but at 6 years old this one would now have definitely come out thousands ahead with insurance. The 10 year old would probably still be break even at best, I think probably under.

I have a couple of those empty small green ones. I’m having trouble finding a way to dispose or get rid of them. Any ideas? I don’t think they are the refillable versions. They are the small dark green Coleman ones.

The Hennepin county recycling and hazardous waste place by me takes them. They won’t take 20lb tanks though, I want to know how to get rid of those.

If that’s true, him spending time at a primarily Psyops base is irrelevant.

I don’t think it’s “primarily” psyops, Liberty (formerly Bragg) is gigantic. Conspiracy theorists are always shocked when someone in the army spent any time during their career at the largest army base though.

Whitetails were never really in the ag zone until they adapted to be there. Deer have always been in the northwoods, not in the numbers they have been in recently, but they were not always present in other parts of the state.

The current DNR estimate on the wolf population is somewhere between 812 and 1192 in 288 packs with 4.1 wolves per pack. That comes out to 1180 (288×4.1=1180.8)wolves. Then you read another section and their best guess is 970 wolves. Their math doesn’t work like I was taught in school.

    Statistics is hard roll

Somebody was definitely walking around my property which is what prompted my question today. I think they took a camera but I’m not 100% sure, maybe I forgot where I put it. I move them all the time and never waypoint them and haven’t lost one yet but it’s possible…

I’m getting two of these Tactacam Defend cameras for the entryway and will put them up high with climbing sticks. Should be safe enough I think.

Going to try some cheapo Spypoints for in the woods, maybe Tactacams later if they really suck. It’s certainly not often people trespass but if they do and one goes missing oh well.
