Probably I just never noticed it because I generally dont go to the forum pages and just click on Active topics which is a mix from everywhere.
Well it’s certainly never meant anything

If you go to the “General Discussion” home page, at the top there is a message now that political and religion related topics will be deleted. I dont recall seeing that before but I normally just go to active topics not the home pages.
That’s been there forever
Less likely to hit the wolf too
No worries, I’ve seen John Wick multiple times
Same for me, I’ve pulled a 60″ out on a much smaller boat but if that happens I’m not having fun.
Does anyone know why Easter varies from year to year? Sometimes it’s in March and this year it’s like 3 weeks later. I find it odd that its not on the same Sunday each year.
First Sunday after the first full moon after spring equinox or something goody like that.
I’ve not shopped used boats very much but some were higher $$ than what I paid new.
Yeah, maybe. Prices are bonkers now so list it high if you aren’t ina rush and see what happens.
Be on the look out for wolves as well. I know the area I hunt we heard them pretty much all day very close by.
A sled dog place scared the crap out of me once before I knew they were in the area. All sorts of howling and yipping coming straight for us through the woods! Double timed it back to truck and got dog inside. Turns out the trail I was on curved back close to main road amd it was a pack of sled dogs coming around the bend all hooked up to a summer exercise rig
Does your woods need a fair amount of management/ invasive control?
Main issue, I think and from the brief review with forester, is just that it’s old. Probably hasn’t been managed at all for 20+ years. The only other thing I’m aware of is some spruce budworm damage.
The ones I have read are quite intensive in the diversity of properties.
I think I need to cut a lot down to get some new growth. I have about 15 acres of aspen, for example, that was previously clearcut and it’s all 25(?) years old and exactly the same height with no young stuff. The rest is a mix of northern MN swamp stuff that’s too thick in areas and choking each other out.
I’m hesitant to just start cutting too much down without knowing what I’m doing since it’s a pretty long term commitment. Would the plans be pretty specific about exactly where to cut and how much?
That being said I want to be careful, especially for the dog, and always consider all safety aspects before and during a hunt. Walking a trail trying to hunt with a dog while the side by side parade goes on has no appeal to me.
I wouldn’t worry about safety too much, you can hear them coming from a mile away. I always have plenty of time to get my two dogs back and hold their collars and half the time I still end up sitting there for awhile until they actually catch up to me.
Those who want to buy it can line up to get filthy rich off all the CRP profits if they want.
The local SWCD forester gave me info to enroll in SFIA which pays 11.02 to 19.50 per acre
Garmin 106 Ultra 1, Garmin, 93, Helix 12 hooked to the new house lithium I’m planning one. 50ah doesn’t seem like enough, 100ah too much?
Max power draw on those combined says 7.2 amps so using 90% of a 50ah would give you a bit over 6 hours. I highly doubt they draw Max power all the time but if you need to feel better about buying a bigger battery there you go
I’d rather they get subsidized to support wildlife and other environmental concerns than get subsidized to grow more corn.
Never done it but I’d be shocked if hunting off an ATV increased your success rate.
Of course it does, you cover so many miles and see birds standing in the open instead of flushing in the trees.
I only drive a few miles to my walking spots and have seen up to 9 or 10 on the road in just that time. If I was popping them from an ATV, which is what many are doing, I could get limit before even making it to my first spot.
You think they are getting off the ATV?!
I see some wild stuff up by Kab and Crane, but I am aware I am likely on the more extreme end of the spectrum and know not everyone is like them.
By Isabella I’ve seen a Jeep passenger sitting sideways, with their feet on the running boards, holding their gun while they slowly drive down the forest roads
Kind of unrelated but has anybody been to Stony River Cafe before it closed? The owner Tom was hilarious. One time I was eating breakfast and a family of ATV riders came in and the kids were bragging about all the grouse they got. Tom asks “Oh yeah, you shoot ’em out of the air”? And they all said “well…” and he just grunts and walks away from their table before they even finished
Here’s a good example of company specific chargers, they even have the same model number
I have seen some companies say to use their chargers to avoid warranty issues but that could be marketing as well.
They sell more chargers and a lot of people are just dumb and wouldn’t use the right one. The one time I think it’s maybe justified is NMC batteries. We are all saying “lithium” but mean LiFePo4 specifically, NMC are also lithium but need a different voltage that isn’t common on universal chargers.
My original post on the “Lucky Bassturds” magically disappeared???
Looks like every topic is missing first post now
For 12v Noco is most well known probably but kind of expensive. The Genius10 can charge 6v regular or AGM and 12v regular, AGM, or lithium. I think they’re at least good quality, I have had several for a really long time. The other thing I like about them is the X-Connect system they have. I have pigtails permanently installed on some batteries and then can just hook the charger up to that. Could make your own with SAE connectors but I’m lazy and SAE connectors are kind of shitty in my opinion. Even for that though there is X-Connect to SAE so you can connect to your charger to anything.
I don’t like how this would effect me, I’d need way heavier line on the trolling rods
25,000 brands of lithium battery on the market right now.
There’s only 25000 different stickers
I didn’t have my fire extinguisher because I forgot to put it in the boat after being inside the house for the winter.
Are you supposed to bring them in? I never have and the gauges make them look fine, never actually used them to see though.
Thanks. My charger won’t do lithium but I heard the AGM setting will work with some lithium’s.
Just need to look at the specs for both and determine. The 50ah 12v litime I looked at says to charge at 14.4v +/- .2v.
Noco genpro AGM is 14.8v which is higher than recommended, old Minnkota Precision is 14.4v which is right on. AGM charging profile is also different and not ideal but it will work and the batteries bms shouldn’t let anything terrible happen.
How dare a movie company like Universal fabricate something to make it bigger, meaner, and scarier.
Crichton intentionally based them on Deinonychus but called them velociraptors because he thought it sounded better. Probably right, I couldn’t even remember how to spell it without looking it up
I bought my fishing license online March 3. How long does it take to receive it?
Takes mine about 15 seconds to come out of the printer

He’s got quite the record
I have an 80ah 24v lithium and its great. I did go with the charger made for it. Im not sure where guys are charging to be able to pull 20amps?? All my garage circuits are only 15amp
You’re forgetting the voltage difference, not charging at 120v
Muskies are like 99% catch and release in Minnesota. I don’t have the exact figures on shoot and release for grouse, but I’m confident it’s less
Eh, that’s about right for the ones I shoot at.
Fishing is going to be significantly different for future generations.
This probably won’t upload but I’m going to try…
