First off, those are some nice looking fish! Where could i find some good fly fishing (trout) in southern WI (near milwaukee/waukesha county)? I am getting more into the sport of fly fishing in the past year and it would be nice to get some tips.
They arent exactly small but not huge by any means and extremely lightly fished and fish are very abundant in summer and last winter was very productive
Its more just a couple lakes connected, its near boulder junction in a private community we have access to, yeah i have the sportsmans books for wisconsin and they are not listed there or on navionics or lake link with a map.
When i was about 10 years old i had just gotten a new crankbait and wanted to test it off of my grandpas dock. So im testing it out on the first cast i hook into a good sized musky using 8lb test line and no leader and no landing net. I get the fish up to me and he breaks off. So my grandpa and i go get another crankbait i think it was a tail dancer by rapala. I go back down to the dock with the same setup exept i brought a net, first cast i hook into another decent fish and it turns out to be a musky again and this one i made sure to land. Get the fish on shore and to my disbelief it was the same fish!!! Still had the other tail dancer in its upper lip. Measured the fish was 42″.
Exact opposite for me, usually tip them with waxies or spikes on a small sweedish pimple. How do you use them on open water? Cast and retrieve? Verticle jig?
