I contacted Humminbird customer support and was told they do not have a repair option, only replacement.
November 5, 2017 at 10:23 am #1725547Wire up a 6v rechargable. It will fit in one of the side compartment and save you a bunch of $$$. Here is a link for YouTube on how to do it.https://youtu.be/JbHzHg2cf58
November 5, 2017 at 10:17 am #1725546Sorry – “Steve small tank” should have been “these small tanks”. Edited to correct. Thanks…
March 31, 2017 at 9:12 pm #1685676I did well out there on eaters last summer and that was the first time I’d been. I am interested to get back out there this spring too. Hope someone with some experience on the spring bite chimes in.
March 2, 2017 at 8:53 pm #1678368I mounted mine to the front rack of my 2004 PO PO 700 with no issues. Just used the mounting hardware that came with the carrier.
December 27, 2016 at 7:30 am #1660046Love the No-Spill for my small 2 strokes. in fact, so much so that I bought one for each of my ice fishing step sons for Christmas this year.

July 25, 2016 at 9:41 pm #1630762I sure don’t think so. Just drive across the Sauk Rapids bridge and you’ll see why.
May 17, 2016 at 7:23 pm #1620071I need up calling Rapid Marine and though they don’t generally retail it, they had a roll in the back and sold me the “remnant” which should more than meet my needs. Thanks for the ideas guys.
April 21, 2016 at 9:08 pm #1615052I’ve been researching a similar question myself. My understanding is that the Helix 12 SI needs an optional transducer for CHIRP, but I can’t find anything definitive on what it is or where to get it….
March 20, 2016 at 9:10 am #1607975I have never done this, but would like to give it a shot. My folks live in Bemidji so its a couple of hours up to the Rainy from there. Is this an expedition that makes sense to do as a day trip or is the fishing better in the low light periods?
February 27, 2016 at 8:16 am #1602630One more thought for consideration. Several have mentioned losing contracts to low ball contractors. How about marketing yourself as an owners agent / project manager to hold the contractor’s feet to the fire on high end home builds? The big boys are used to having folks do this kind of thing in their line of business and don’t have time and / or knowledge to do it themselves. when building that dream home.
January 17, 2016 at 8:04 pm #1593350We went, but with the temps hovering around zero, and the barometer and winds on the rise it was a tough day to try a new lake. WE’ll give it another shot one day when conditions are a little better….
January 13, 2016 at 10:26 pm #1592466Where did you find the winterkill info. I didn’t see anything more recent that 2009 on Lakefinder.
January 13, 2016 at 10:18 pm #1592465How did you ID the 2013-2014 winterkill info? The latest info that I saw on Lakefinder was from 2009.
January 13, 2016 at 9:54 pm #1592459I always thought that was likely filmed at the Red Door on Mille Lacs. Neat story.
December 21, 2015 at 5:00 pm #1586358Hey BK – Thanks for the tip. It worked perfect and in seconds as you mentioned above. Who’d have thought the manual would have what a guy needed…..
An aside, how about a Marcum forum? There are forums on the site for Lowrance, HB and Garmin and although most of us are probably using our Marcum’s on ice, having a dedicated forum might make it a bit easier for folks to find solutions to problems like this one.
September 5, 2015 at 10:02 am #1564116I’ve got a 522. The head unit has never been a problem and the internal GPS works just fine. Like others, I now use mine primarily for ice fishing. The big problem I saw with Lowrance back in that timeframe was the quality of their transducers…. I’ve got birds on my boat now, but am certainly watching the developments from Garmin and others as I consider future upgrades.
July 31, 2015 at 6:57 pm #1557400I ended up taking the rod to Joe’s on a tip from an acquaintance and they shipped it for me for like $22. I doubt I could have gotten that done via UPS or Fed Ex on a 7 foot tube. Thanks for the tips though.
July 24, 2015 at 7:13 pm #1556273Just rolled over 260K on my ’05 D-Max. Its needs a a new set of wheels, a little body work, and there are a few LED’s that are starting to fail in the dash, but like James, I’m looking to make 400K. Its been a great truck.
July 16, 2015 at 9:34 pm #15551056I almost always take 64 unless I want to stop at Reed’s in Walker. It is faster as there are none of the smaller towns you’ll have to go through on 371 (cheaper too….). If you take 64 you will hit 200 between Laporte ad Kabekona at the end of 64. Take a left to go to Kabekona. From there you are 16 miles to Bemidji via 71 north, or you can take a left and continue on to Itasca by way of highway 200 / 71 south through Lake George. Easy navigation all the way around.
July 12, 2015 at 7:21 pm #15542995 fish by 3 PM????
Get your fish by noon and you won’t have to worry about being in a hurry…
June 10, 2015 at 6:23 pm #1549606I don’t know about the 797, 897 or 997 Ethernet capability, but I do know that my 1197 is linked via Ethernet with my 898 via the Ethernet hub which I have to support connection to my I-pilot link.
