I don’t know , ive owned both sm and ion and i know that my ion cuts faster then the sm??? I surely know the battery is easier to remove then the sm. Trigger lag, give me a break?? Longer reach on the sm, get another extension for the ion if needed. they are both good augers, its what ever strikes your fancy??

I to have been using the striker hardwater bibs and like them alot. The jacket on the other hand is way too warm when setting up the flip over. It good for just sitting in the open.

Use a 3 amp fuse inline for your power from the battery.

If my auger called for a 24:1 mixture i SUREly wouldn’t use a 40:1 or 50:1 mixture. You are shortening the life of your auger??

why should you have to put wind poles in if it isn’t windy. The material is too tight?? something is not right either in the assembly or the manufacturing. You should not have to stretch out material, in my opinion. You may need to tighten things up if they do stretch over time, which should not be a problem??? Paying this kind of money and so many having so many problems with this over the last couple of years , which ive read about on this forum is??? There is a problem either with making of the materal or the directions on assembly???

Do they have any timeline as to when they will have a new switch available?? I mean they are going to have a very many reconditioned augers for sale, maybe with some great prices?? Are we, the ones that returned them going to be offered any incentives to buy back the reconditioned augers?? Just a thought?

Yes ice fishing is the only time i fish. During the warm months im golfing which i love but when winter comes i need a break from golf so ice fishing gives it to me. Lets my old body recover from hacking and slashing for 6 months???

From what iv’e read they do not develop memories, let me know if im wrong. Use as needed, charge as needed.. Don’t leave on a charger more then 24 hours(if completely drained) through out the off season put on a charger every couple of months for 1/2 hour at most, fully charge before using for the first time ice fishing.

Buy otters, eskimos, frabils, just get them the same length or longer and cut them. If the holes don’t line up the hyfax should cover the old holes, or epoxy the holes after the hyfax is on.

JD, it was not warm weather creating the water, once i drilled the holes the water came up through the holes. The shipping season is still going on and im fishing on the st marys river (in a bay).Whether its under ice waves from the freighters or what i don’t know. When i shoveled the snow off the ice to setup no water on ice. When i left 7 hours later there was at least 3 inches of water all over in my area?? Temps were +2 F with 20 mph winds (fricking cold). As for the wood pieces i should have said 2″ x 4″ x 6″ just to hold the pole up out of the water.
