Well this seems to be a controversial topic. I am a avid bow hunter and have hunted many species in many different areas. Sure it is said that deer don’t see color and some people say that scent control is a waste because you can’t be completely scent free. I’m sure that everyone at some pint has had a deer come in close when wearing something other that camo. I’m sure that everyone has had deer come in from down wind. Deer have evolved and deer in different areas act different and tolerate different things. You can’t hunt a deer in rural areas the same as deer in the west. And you can’t hunt deer with a bow the same as you do with a gun. I’m sure that someone out there is saying ” well I shot a deer in jeans and a t-shirt that came in down wind, that stuff is all overrated” . I’ve met those people. I tell these people that that’s fine but what you don’t know is what deer you didn’t see because of the same reasons. Anyone who is a true bow hunter and want to harvest quality deer regularly will take every step possible at all times to give yourself the best opportunity on a trophy. You never know when the chance will come so be ready at all times, take every step possible and you won’t have be able to say
” well if I just wore camo’s I could have shot that deer”, or ” if I had just controlled my scent better that moster would have been mine”. Do everything you can and have no regrets.
