Thanks for your interest. Here are the answers to your questions:

    1) about 20 teams, at least that is what we have averaged this year through our first 3 events.

    2) payout is 80% of the entry fees, the payout break down is in our tournament rules on the website but to save you time: 1=35%, 2=25%, 3=20%, 4=15%, 5=5% We only pay out top 5. We do have a big fish pot that is 100% payback winner take all and that is $20 per team.

    3) the minnow level membership is membership to our club, this includes your spouse and kids under 18. The increasing membership levels include free banquet tickets and additional recognition through club events.

    4) Yes the $25 membership fee is payment for the minnow membership level. This is an annual fee to be able to fish the club events.

Let me know if you have any more questions. My phone number is on the the tournament sign up sheet.

Do you have the latest software? 4.0 is the latest. The lowrance website lists this as one of the improvements in the release: “General software and performance improvements: Increased system stability”.

Maybe this will solve you problem?

You are probably loosing bottom because your transducer is mounted too far forward, your transducer is mounted on a hull strake, or you have too much stern lift. Stern lift example: I will not loose bottom lock on my HDS 9 if I am using a 19p rev4 prop but if I use my 22p bravo FS then I will loose bottom. Both props run at 60mph but the way they lift the stern of the boat is different. The bravo prop causes my stern to be lifted so much that my thru hull transducer has a difficult time reading the bottom at the higher speeds. Make sure your transducer is mounted in the deepest spot possible in your boat and as close to the stern as possible.

The new insight chips are pretty good for the mississippi. Also, Navionics+ is really good.

If it is the old version that was specifically made for Lowrance then, yes it will work. Like bassn7 mentioned, none of the new lake master maps will work with Lowrance units because lake master no longer makes maps for units other than humminbird.
