I just snapped the end off my triumph casting rod today. They are $70 rods, so I’m trying to figure out if it is worth sending back to get replaced, or if I should just go buy a new one.
How do you package the rod when you return it? I don’t happen to have any 7′ skinny boxes laying around, so I’m wondering how you guys packaged yours. If it costs me $50 to replace the rod, plus around $10 dollars to ship it, then I’m really only saving maybe $10. Plus then you don’t get a chance to look the rod over before you buy it, so is it really worth doing the warranty return in this situation…?Also, what is the difference in the premiers and the triumph series? I put the descriptions side by side and the only difference I see is that the triumphs are made in Mexico and are $50 cheaper than the premier. I wanted to get a premier originally, but I got the triumph because it seemed to be the same thing for $50 less.
