Spent the past week @ Pokegama with the wife. We caught alot of nice northerns. 31″ the biggest. I caught 2 25″ walleyes, one 22″, and several eaters. Since I am not the greatest walleye fisherman, I was happy. Also caught several 15 to 19″ smallies that went after my nightcrawlers fishing for walleyes. My son came up midweek and caught a 37″ northern. One 25″ walleye was a real nice fish, but the other one was huge for a 25″ fish. Had to weight 2 lbs more than the other 25″ fish. Had nice weather, a good week.

What species are you looking to go after?

I never have done real well with walleyes there, but that is what I am really going to try to get when I am up there. I do pretty well with bigger northerns with leadcore and down deep. So I will do that also. And, the bonus big smallmouth when lindy rigging is always a good possibility. If you see a black and white Ranger Reata with a 150 Merc, its me.

I bought this chip last year. I just haven’t used it @ LOW yet. Going in Sept. I know this chip is not as good as this years(2007), but just wondering if it is somewhat accurate. I thought it would be the ticket on Pokegama in Itasca Co.,Mn, but it is very inaccurate there. I found out later that it is one of the many lakes that Navionics really has not surveyed yet. Thanks for the replies.
