Ever since The Next bite did a show out of appledorns it has been quite busy. Was gonna reserve something last winter but the prices were way jacked than year prior so I passed. Wondered why for a bit until I saw the episode.

nhamm – We have not really changed any of our pricing in the last couple of years and none of those changes have related to fishhouses. Cabins and Motels rooms have not changed either. We actually dropped prices some during the week when it is not prime time.

This is deceiving and far from the entire story.
A year or so ago the state appropriated a 3 million dollar relief package to affected Mille Lacs area businesses negatively impacted by the walleye fishing closure. The aid included grants up to $5,000 and/or interest free loans up to $100,000 over 5 years.
Many of the area resorts and businesses have accepted these and in some cases both with opportunity to apply for additional if all other qualifying applicants were met. I believe they have and most the funds are now spoken for with the deadline being June 30th.

Walleyestudent – You did not do your homework. That article was not related to the relief package. Hunter Winfield’s will indeed receive 150,000. Not as a loan or grant, rather a one time payment for damages incurred by the Mn DNR’s negligent mismanagement of the lake.
