Bungy cord to the steering wheel for auto pilot. I would try it at wide open throttle to make sure it works well.
Consider yourself lucky. At least she did not ask for a piercing.
The gasoline in the engine is more than likely caused by blow from worn out piston rings or rings that where not broke in properly. Most start with replacing the thermostat with a hotter one to increase the temp. New thermostat and oil change cheap and easy. With the 9.9 the problem lies in that most of the time they are a kicker motor and don’t get up to proper operating temperature enough as most usually run them slow for trolling. Hence the gasoline seepage. Running a hotter thermostat will let you run slow speeds but heat up the rings so they seat “seal” better. You may also want to prop to a smaller pitch, if engine is under constant load from over propped it will seep gas. For $300 I would buy and change out the thermostat and oil and see what happens.
Very nice fish. If thats in Illinois thats only 12.5 oz’s off the state record.
Is it still balanced? Do you feel any vibration or loss of hole shot/rpm? If not lightly filing not an issue if just little nicks. Bigger horsepower outboard, bigger issue.
One idea, stuck choke. Would run until gets to rich. Might also explain your fuel pump question. Check the linkage on the carb when you engage the choke and see if it moves back all the way when you disengage. Manually pull the choke linkage back on the carb after starting to see if it fully turns “off”. If it runs good until 4000 rpm and does not bog not likely choke. Could be fuel pump. Check the wires. Oil level good? Not an overheat piston issue?
One suggestion is an inline carbon filter. Place it after your primary before it goes to tank. Its easy to check to see if your primary is working right, will pick up the fine particulate and easy to replace.

Check your linkages and/or cables to see if something is bound, bent, kinked stretched out.
X2
Just lift off the hood should be easy to see.
As previously posted warranty and rigging is critical. The Pro Xs has a warranty but does it start when registered or 2010. Same with the boat. Great deal or not, does it fit the bill for what you want it to do.. Is the dealer local for you to deal with any potential problems or is it a drive for a left over overstock (deal or not) that you have no service after the sale. Water tested? Proper pitch stainless prop? Decent Prop or some aluminum that they just stuck on. Any trolling, now is the time to get that bow mount thrown in. New 2009 boat that they have been sitting on they will deal. Don’t be afraid to pitch an offer or get more thrown in. They want to get a 2 year old boat off their lot, new or not. WATER TEST. If they won’t let you run it, PASS. Check every switch and gauge. Best of luck.
Good luck Dean, we”ll miss you down at Everts. I know that its certainly won’t be the same. All future purchases will be made at Deans Tackle Box. Thanks again for everything.

I found the best way to quit smoking was by chewing. It has been a very long time since my last cigarette. The main thing is to just stick with it. Whenever my co-workers “go out for a smoke”, I just grab my tin of Cope and toss one in.
As a tin of Cope a day guy myself. At $4.50 /can, and a habit I have tried to quite many times and failed, I would STRONGLY suggest not to switch to Chew. No Offense. Why start another addicting habit.
Personally I have not had much luck with Blades on Wissota. If your thinking Wissota for the opener just remember that it’s hosting the Governor’s Open next weekend and it will be a zoo.
Very nice. I still have to try to tackle the electric fillet knife. You make it look so easy.
Creamy Smoked Trout Potato Soup
Serves 4 as main course, 6 as first course
Ingredients
1 Tbsp oil
1 Tbsp butter
2 medium yellow onions, sliced
1 fennel bulb, sliced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
Set a large heavy pot over medium heat. When the pot is hot, and oil and butter. Wait until butter melts, then add onions and fennel. Season with salt and sugar, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook 30 minutes stirring occasionally until golden brown.
2 Russet (baking) potatoes
1 Lb smoked trout
4 cups fish stock
1 cup dry white wine
1 cup water
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp salt
Peel potatoes, cut them into eighths.
Remove the skin from trout fillets, and break them up into small pieces.
Add potatoes, trout, fish stock, wine, water, bay leaf, and salt to the pot.
Stir, cover, turn up the heat, and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low, tilt the cover to allow steam to escape, and simmer for 20 minutes or until potatoes are very tender.
If any scum forms on the soup, carefully skim it with a spoon.
1/4 tsp black pepper
Electric Blender
Remove soup from heat and uncover. Remove the bay leaf. Stir in the pepper. Let cool 10 minutes. Purèe in a blender in batches for about 1 minute, or until completely smooth and creamy. Soup can be made a day in advance and reheated before serving.
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 Tbsp chopped fennel greens
Laddle soup into warm bowls. Pour 1 Tbsp of cream into each bowl, and mix lightly to make swirls. Sprinkle with fennel greens and serve with crusty bread.
Way cool. But how can they shoot the small ones? Just don’t lead them as much.
Easiest solution is to use the 2 premade clothing hanger rods that you see the “traveling sales guys” use. No bolts under ten bucks a pop. Easy on and off..
I have personally done my last three atv’s with 3×5 sheets of 3m cammo. With this said it is not easy as it looks..a Case and 1/2 on a 6 pack scale. First go with a complex pattern like advantage realtree max-4 that will not show the cuts due to the “busy pattern” of the camo. Assume you will never take it off as the non-permanent does not hold up. With that in mind us a 3m adhesive spray in addition to the peel and stick backing. While a heat gun helps to bend the vinyl you will still need to make 10x more cuts then you would think. Yes this can be done, but don’t get frustrated and when in doubt..Spray black bedliner or underbody works great for areas that are just to hard like vents..ect. Good luck
You guys did good by getting off at 1am Sunday morning. We put the boat (black Tracker 21dc) in at 12am Sat. night with most people coming off the water as we where putting in..REALLY bad weather most the night. Between lighting and constant rain by 5am their was just two of us left besides the die hards on shore. That being said, the worse the weather the better the bite. At one point early am, we where the only boat out. On the Fox that is unreal. Did well, hell of a night. Congrats on the tank.

I’m tying to get from Key west to Tartuga. I know its nuts but if mileage is ok, i’m going for it.
Ummm, not sure where in the keys your coming from but that is a long haul regardless. Things change weather wise pretty quickly down there that make the Mississippi Flood Current look like a cake walk. Anything that you have to “Try to go for” does not sound like a good idea. Lots of things can go wrong. I think your nuts. Nothing personal, just my opinion.
Launched two days ago out of Everts. Not bad just point the trailer slightly down current. The dock is a great if you are launching solo.
If money allows and the boat has the capacity rating, I would be looking at 150’s. Much more choices in various models. That being said, while I run a 250 2 stoke I would go 4 stroke all day. Less noise no extra oil (at $30+/gallon) and in my opinion, better resale. You may lose a little on the hole shot but who cares its fishing not water skiing.
