My helix 5 did the random depth changes when the battery got low. Hopefully that’s all it is for you

James, it is interesting that your side by side had the honda faster. I was just commenting to my buddy that I thought my strike lite II was faster (we’ve never done a side by side comparison though) We do run 6″ bits. To solve the tip over issue I typically bungee it with that side up and try and make it so the auger doesn’t move. For a $200+ difference I’m personally sticking with my strike lite 2 until it’s days are over. Sweet little auger for sure.

My helix and vex played well together open water (had the ice ducer on the helix). I was just playing around with them passing my time until first ice. I’m guessing 90% of the time my helix will only be used for it’s GPS

I like my 22 a lot. Went from the old tri-beam (hated it because it was cracked), to the proview, and now I’m back to the tribeam (they sent me a new one) which I personally like better. Which means my FL8 has a proview on it.

What I think you’ll find is most tungsten jigs using MM sizing. I have seen 3MM, 4MM, and 5MM. My best advice is to go to Kendersoutdoors.com and click on the orange/yellow tungsten jig. They have their jigs compared to a penny there. I think their 5MM with a gulp alive minnow or 4 spikes should be perfect for crappie. I love their prices too!

How do I speed up my flasher mode? It seems a little delayed from my vexilar and I’m defiantly not used to it. I think I have my speed on ultra, but if anyone has suggestions I’ll take them. I do have the XI 9-20 transducer.

I love that matrix. They should have shown that in school when we were trying to learn them. Would have helped a lot!

Would they work for perch or walleye? I’m interested in the green handled one if it would.

Hit up a tournament. Clear Lake Iowa has the yellow bass bonanza. Very fast paced when you get into them!

I just ordered it as well. My daughter is 2 and loves to go fishing. I’m guessing this will be a huge hit!

Yellow bass are a blast to catch. Look on facebook at the yellow bass bonanza. To do well with them you have to be willing to move a lot to find feeding fish. My go to is a rattle spoon with a dropper chain that has a small jig on it. Tungsten works well too. I use wigglers/spikes to tip with, but some guys use cut bait. Kevan Paul hosts that tournament and usually updates facebook with how he’s doing. He has some pretty good videos on catching them too.
