Hey, Old Rat, we must have been on the same page at one time as my first kid was born 6/2/79 at about the same time in the am. Happened to be a girl by the way. I didn’t go fishing but drank plenty of beer that night. As far as the lizards go, I have had good luck on them in the spring, black, blk-blue and blk-red flk. Last couple of years, seems like they haven’t been as good but I always try them.
As far as I know Thad has his Triton for sale, and he is back working. Idon;t think he is fishing the pro tournaments this year.

we had a club tournament there 2 weeks ago, lots of fish caught, most of them came in current on weed edges and some off of wood. not much of a slop bite at that time but it has dropped some since then so who knows. good luck

when i was around 10/12 yrs old, i went down to the local creek with my rod and can of corn, caught a few carp, took them up to my grand parents house and grandpa would dig a hole by his rose bushes, chop up the carp with a shovel bury them and let me tell ya he had the best looking roses in town. often wondered why rough fish couldn’t be netted and processed for fertilizer, sure worked for grand dad
fished 9 on sunday, lots of boats everywhere. did good in minn. slough for lgm. caught quite a fwe fish but biggest was only 2.5, cant find the big ones. hope the weather holds and the bite stays for a cpl more weeks. 
hey guys fished 9 friday and sat. jeremy, i think i talked to you above black hawk park in a side channel. we had a club tournament sunday on 9. we had only 5 boats but the fishing was good with most guys limited, 3 with over 14 lbs. just thoght i would add my 2 cents ok. thanks.

jig&pig; the regional should be on 9 10 &11. I fish the iowa federation but didnt quallify. the river is low . fish wood in current along with wings and rip rap on main and side channels. also look for slop in back waters, frog and rats used here. good luck.
