I was actually able to find a lot of then available to order, including a few aftermarket brands. I ordered one of the aftermarket pumps, so hopefully it is up to snuff. I’ll know this week sometime.
Thanks for the advice. I figured it would probably tear up the diaphragm, but hadn’t thought about it changing the working length of the spring. I just ordered another fuel pump. I knew better than to be working above grass, but went against my better judgement. I might listen to myself next time.
I had a longer response typed out and then I ended up getting logged out and it didn’t post. For the money, I’d buy a Shimano Sienna before the Piscifun. It’s fairly smooth, but the drag is pretty jerky, line management isn’t great, and mine came way over lubricated.
Snug up your battery connections and make sure the crimps on the connectors are good. Mine weren’t crimped very well and since I crimped them more, my charger has worked perfectly.
I and the same problem with my lx7 and then I got an lx5i. The chargers work properly on the 5, but not the 7. It ended up being my connections to the battery on the lx7 that was making the difference. The crimps on my connectors weren’t crimped very well, so I put a better crimp on them and snugged up the connection to the battery and both have charged flawlessly since.
I’ll 3rd Josh at Hooked Up Guide Service. He ends up booked solid once we have ice, so I’d get ahold of him soon if you decide to go with him. Bry’s is also a good guide service as well.
I’ve had a subscription to LTB for a while and have switched between different boxes a few times. Some months they do great and others it’s horrible. I keep forgetting to cancel my subscription. I’ve had boxes with some really cool stuff and multiple big name cranks, plastics, spinner rigs, etc. I get the panfish box right now and have received #2 hooks multiple times. When I was getting the walleye box I would get 6 and 8 size hooks. Last month I got a #7 blade bait in my panfish box.
Get a piece of copper pipe, flatten one end with a hammer and bend it over, use as a scraper to pull the sediment to the element hole. It will take a while, but it works. It would be nice if they made one with a larger hole to clean it out.
The forecast is for a 3-4′ rise this year, so it will probably be usable again. I have no idea whether or not they will put a dock in or not though. I believe it was put in somewhere by Minnewauken last year.
The pro for the lx7 is way better target separation and more usable transducer cone angles. I think the helix has something like 2″ target separation and only 20° and 60° cone angles. The lx7 has 1/2″ target separation and 8° and 20° cone angles. The 60° would be nice at times though. The big advantage of the helix is the built in GPS. I’d vote for the lx7 and just keep using the Navionics app on my phone. If the helix had better target separation and a 10° option I’d probably check one out.
Penn Fierce 1000 size are comparable to the old 750 size Shimano reels. They have great drags they are smooth and consistent and adjust well. Theu are 2x the price of a Sienna though. You can also still buy the 500 Sienna’s for about $30 on eBay.
We drove around on the lake on Sunday with our pickups, but it was really tough going if noone had busted a trail yet. I ended up stuck a few times, but a bit of shoveling and I was out pretty quick. Hopefully we get a thaw soon, so we can get rid of a bit of the snow. We didn’t find any slush pockets, but I’ve heard there are definitely some out there.
