    Guys,

Got out for a few hours yesterday morning (wed.) to hunt down those soft mouths. It took little while but finally managed to lure some to the boat. 1/16 chart. jig with minnow seemed to be the best. They seemed to be 1-2 feet off the bottom in 8-9 FOW. Nice to have the lake to myself. Oh how that will change!
Doc, thanks for luring Don to commit to a time for Sat morning. Now I know how little sleep I’ll get.
Save me about a 17′ area to squeeze the boat into.

    Mike

    Hey Pete,

My guess, Sat. April 11th. I’ll be at the landing for a Spring boat check-out (with crappie gear).

I believe if you could get on Howard’s boat you would have a great time. The man knows how to catch fish! Years ago I booked a charter with him expecting to be on his boat but ended up on one of the others (not sure how they figure who goes on what boat). Our boat Captain grabbed a mate who didn’t even know how to run the riggers. Needless to say, the trip was a bust for the 4 of us. Bad first and my last charter experience.
Since then, I have my own rig setup, learned alot about fishing over there the hard way, and really enjoy fishing L.M.
Hope you have a great trip and agree July should be good for numbers of fish.
