Thats alot of holes in 36″ of ice.
I have one of the original Ions ….their claim then was 40 holes in 12″ of ice. I still use the original battery but do have a back up. It works good for northern Illinois or southern Wisconsin….but if I lived where I got 3′ of ice I would have a gas or propane.

Home Depot sells a paint for outdoor things like piers. Can’t remember what it is called. I did the floor of my enclosed trailer. Works great holds up well. You can pick whatever color you want….I want to say it was called deck over paint. …

I can’t see drilling 8″ holes with the cordless. It can definitely be done but you will smoke the drill after a while. I’d keep the ion if you have a hard house anyway. Just watch opening old holes with the ion ….you will snap a blade…happened to me twice.

I recently had the opportunity to fish a lake that has big gills not quite that big but damn near. Just an absolute blast to catch them bulls. Lots of head shakes n circles……

I would not suggest reopening old holes with the Ion. it will cost you sooner or later. It likes to snap one of the blades in half. It has happened to me twice since I’ve owned it.

Think I would just call the DNR on him anyway. All he is going to do is dump them somewhere else, but look for a camera. He won’t learn anything from not getting some sort of penalty. My 2 cents….

I also have an Ion (no reverse). This is my third or fourth season with it. I broke down and picked up a new battery for this season. I have worn out that ring at the bottom and one side has broke with the other side not too far behind. It’s at the fabricator getting beefed up now. If I was to pull the trigger on a new auger it would definitely be that Honda four stroke. …..

You sir have a piece of rust / debris jammed in the ballcock. You can remove the ballcock and try to clean it out…..or go get a universal ballcock and live happy. Do your self a favor and get a long 3/8″ supply tube or flexible one…..hook it to your water supply and flush it for three minutes or so into the toilet bowl or a bucket of some sort.

I still use the Diamond jigs all season long. Go to Custom Jigs and Spins web site. Order whatever color and size you like…..price is right there…beats driving round to all them stores. Do your self a favor and pick up a couple small copper colored tungsten jigs from here. I think its free shipping on orders over $80……

Thourogood boots out of Wausau Wis I believe. I was a huge Red Wing fan until I tried these. No break in period at all soft from the get go. Made in the USA….
I too am on concrete or in a ditch all day. No complaints here. You can definitely stay under 2 hundo.
