Hi paulski, I sent you a private message as well. I know you mentioned a ranger, but I’m selling my Skeeter 1775T this spring, comparable to what you’re looking for. Please reach out if interested and we can talk more details

Nice fish buddy. Its about time you post some pictures of those slabs your catching. If your job ever lets you have a free weekend, we’ll have to get out sometime soon!!!
August 20, 2013 at 5:43 pm #1190545I fished this lake for the first time this year in early August, so i don’t have much for information in the fall. The local bait shop told us not to even fish for walleyes until late evening as the water is very clear. We tried anyways, and managed (1) 18″ walleye in 20′ of water on the east shore. We swtiched gears half way thru the day and focused on bass. We found fish on most wind blown points and even a couple around the islands, with a couple bass in the high teens and one at 21″. At that time, there were bass, pike, and nice blue gills all mixed together. They preferred anything in chartreuse or crawdad raps. I would guess late in the year, you would find all these, fish along with walleyes up in the shallows along wind blow points.
Hope this helps some, and I do know its one of those lakes with potential to kick out some big fish. Good luck!!!August 13, 2013 at 7:21 pm #1189357That’s a good find Will!
I bought the exact same thing last year from Home Depot, but paid a little more than what you found it for. The adapter that hooks up to a corded/cordless drill is very nice too, makes for quick unloading and loading into your truck. Definately something you guys should look into with limited garage space
August 1, 2013 at 8:10 pm #1186894Thanks tswoboda!!!
You practically put the fish in the boat for me already, now I just need a good net man. I’ll definatley use the information given and see what turns up. Hope to return with a good report
August 1, 2013 at 3:30 pm #1166899I agree Ben, those spots look like they have some potential. This is one of those lakes with lots of structure and can be intimiating when you first look at a contour map. Thanks for the input!
January 30, 2013 at 3:02 pm #1136205Thanks for the replys guys. I will be making the trip down to H2O in Big Lake.
I do have to ask though, after seeing castle rocks’s post, what ratio do you guys mix your gas to oil. The manual says 24:1, but I know as of recently strikemaster says its fine to go to 40:1. I’ve been using the 40:1 for the last 3 years now, but over the last couple weeks, its been running worse and worse.
January 30, 2013 at 12:55 am #1136064Gas is new this year and I’ve tried running a couple ounces of gas mixed with a couple ounces of seafoam. I drilled 15 holes tonite after work thinking that would help things, but no luck. Carb could be gummed up? The auger is 6 years old and never had a
good tune up, may just need a once overJune 26, 2012 at 4:29 pm #1078829How are you guys getting your boat speeds down to .8-1 mph when your trolling?
I have a 80hp yamaha, but I know I can’t get that slow. Do you guys throw out a drift sock to slow you down or possibly a 5 gallon bucket tied to eye hook at the transom?
Thanks —

I use a three way rig with a 2 oz bell sinker dropper at 18 inches. Back trolling at 1.5 GPS. Colorado deep cup spinner blades in hammered gold or silver #5. 3 hook crawler harness 7 foot in length.
Are you dragging the bottom with the sinker? My experience with stirring up the bottom is good and bad. I believe fish are curious and will come tocheck things about, but if they’re in a negative mood, stirring the bottom up may turn them away.
There will be another guy in the boat, so this is a good opportunity to try both.
June 25, 2012 at 3:58 pm #1078522Thanks to all who replied!
With some direction, I do have a little more confidence now going into this. It’s definately going to take some trial and error…and a trip to Fleet to grab some needed tackle.
June 25, 2012 at 1:54 pm #1078491Thanks Fife!
I assume when you keep the weight off the bottom, your not feeding the fish line when you feel the inital tap? When you are dragging and feel the fish hit, are you feeding it line like rigging?

June 12, 2012 at 12:54 pm #1075440That’s a bummer to hear. I’ve been really happy with the Elite Tech Series and their performance.
If that happens ever again, try and take them into Scheels. I’ve had the tip break (my fault)on 2 different rods over the last couple years and I’ve brought the rod into Scheels and they switched it out, no questions asked. I was in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes.
June 7, 2012 at 3:00 pm #1074436Hey Gobbler —
Check you PM’s. I see your located in central MN, and I have encountered this a few times on a specific lake north of Freeport, I may be able to help.

My eyes are light sensitive and I’m on my fourth pair of Costa Del Mars and wear them 365 days a year. I might occasionally forget my wallet or phone when leaving the house but never my Costa Del Mars. Even wearing them every day I still get at least 2 years out of them. There are many quality brands but the fact Costa Del Mar has different size frames to fit anyone is a big plus.
Hey Gsanders —
I’m in the market to buy some new glasses as well. Where do you go to get these fitted? I’d be willing to spend the money if I can find a pair that fits my melon.
Thanks —

I typically doing most of my rigging on Milly pulling 1/2-3/4 oz, depending on the conditions. With the added weight, sounds like the Medium is the better option.
December 13, 2011 at 9:26 pm #1017401Hey Bob –
Our group is coming up Thursday night and fishing Friday and Saturday. Are you finding a consistent 8″ of ice throughout the entire lake? We are planning on bringing the wheelers, but thought I’d ask…ya never know what this warm weather is doing to the lake.

Roger, did they give you any options on how to avoid this problem being that it is the adhesive? That is besides never putting it in the transducer holder. Thanks!
SES —
They said to use an old sock as a sleeve for the transducer or cut a piece of cloth to fit the holder and leave in there. This will make a barrier between the face of the transducer and the adhesive.

Good luck Roger, I wish I could go with!
Kooty, if things work out the way I hope, we’ll be making another trip up there after Christmas!
November 10, 2011 at 5:40 pm #1008065Turkey Nate – Thanks for the heads up, and yes Cal, Matt does design these but rated for 1000lbs. I couldn’t tell you what something like that costs. May have to jimmy rig something

For that price it seems like that way to go, but have you ever noticed problems with only having the 2 hooks, as far as the house “teeter tottering”…so to speak.
I’m still pondering this idea, but even for $150 I think it’s a prodcut well worth that.
September 7, 2011 at 2:21 am #993333The puck was bad…I had a second puck for my LCX17 and started the elimination process first by switching the pucks and I was able to pick up my position immediately. Lucky guess!!!
Thanks for the help
August 15, 2011 at 9:15 pm #988452Don’t forget about the homemade remedies. In the past I’ve made socks out of five gallon buckets, rope, and a swivel and drag it off the back of the boat. It’s not pretty, but it will slow you down the .5 mph….sometimes that’s all you need.
August 15, 2011 at 9:11 pm #988449The boards that can fry…are they behind the black plastic cover on the motor?
Thanks for the input from all, I’ll check it over tonight and let you know what I’ve found out.
April 21, 2011 at 2:48 pm #959338This does in fact work. Like Blue said, we also use to make these in high school. When they went off they were as loud as a 12 gauge shot gun. Watch out for the gatorade bottles, they’ll throw some shrapnel.
A good piece of information though, these bombs do not need to be shaken or moved to explode. Once the drain-o and tin foil are mixed together and sealed tight, that alone causes enough gas in the bottle for it to explode, it just takes a little longer than shaking the bottle.March 10, 2011 at 10:31 pm #945999I know earlier this week someone had posted that over this last weekend his buddies house burnt down to the ground somewhere just south of St. Cloud and he lost everything, including all fishing equipment and was looking for donations to help his friend get back on his feet again. I’ll see if I can find that post.
March 10, 2011 at 10:18 pm #945994I’m not sure, this is just shooting from the hip, but you might need an out of state license for the boat? fishing license?
