Other factors that first time glass owners seem to value after making the transition besides the ride,

Dryness of ride, not needing to wear rain gear when the sun is shining.

    dry storage

and the most important to be…. Tracking. The best boat control catches the most fish.

This is my second season in a glass boat and Dean’s comments are spot on! The boat control is a night and day difference.

I am not in the boat often but the dryness of the ride is probable number 1 for me. It definitely makes moving around the water much more enjoyable. The ride in our glass boat is great too. Switching from an aluminum tiller to a glass boat with a windshield was a great decision. (FYI – Francis is my other half ))

I will say Buona Sera is the best I have had in Minnesota, but while it is good it isn’t in the same league as I have experienced in big cites around the country. Always looking for something new. grin

I guess we need to try Buona Sera again. Everyone in the area says it is awesome. We went once and all four of us were disappointed.

Here is another crock-pot meal that Francis K has brought on a few trips. I will mix the sauce ingredients ahead of time and send it with him in a Tupperware.

    Angle Chicken Pasta

    6 boneless skinless chicken breast
    1/4 cup butter
1 (.7 oz) package of dry Italian dressing mix
    1/2 cup chick broth
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup
    4 oz cream cheese w/chives

Please chicken in crock-pot. Melt butter and add the remaining ingredients. Mix well. Pour over chicken. Cook 5-6 hours on low. Serve chicken and sauce over noodles. waytogo waytogo

There are many woman in my office that have blankets at their desks. These same people are always saying they are cold. I have told a few of them to wear more layers and that I might buy them long underwear as a x-mas present. Also, if you are cold every day why aren’t you dressing differently? It often baffles me.
We have no control over the thermostats in our office. It is all controlled by the building.

I was on a bus on the 4th Street ramp coming into downtown Minneapolis listening to the KQ Morning Show. At the time I worked in the IDS Center. The law firm I worked for closed for the day not long after the second plane hit. I didn’t have a bus to get back to my car for another hour or two so I was just going to work until it was time to leave. The next thing I knew the fire alarm was going off. Those of us still in the office got out of the building so fast. Found out the next day it was a false alarm but it was definitely scary at the time.

I’m really wondering how everyone can now afford these boats approaching $100k fully rigged?? Draining the IRA’s/401k’s at retirement or 20 year loans?? How are they fitting in standard 22′ garages?? I can barely fit my 16′ Alaskan in my garage let alone trying to fit one 22′ long.

I can answer these questions because we purchased a new boat this year, a Skeeter WX1920. Fully rigged it wasn’t anywhere near $100k. We didn’t touch our 401K and we didn’t take a 20 year loan. This boat was something my FH has been wanting for many years. He ran an 70 horse Alumacraft Tournament Pro tiller for almost 15 years. He shopped for a new boat for a long time looking for just the right deal. When he found it he came to me, the CFO, and we looked hard at our finances and determined that we could add a loan payment. No, it doesn’t fit in the garage but his full size truck doesn’t either. The boat stays covered on the side of the house and in a pole barn Nov.-March. This purchase wasn’t made lightly. I will say riding in a boat that has a windshield across Lake Mille Lacs is awesome. I don’t miss the tiller boat in the least! )
However, I did ask the Warrior salesman at the boat show if the $100k boat caught more fish then cheaper boats. He didn’t have much of an answer.

Hwy 169 north of Hwy 610 through Champlin and into Anoka is a complete cluster-f*** right now! One lane both directions and traffic gets backed up. I would avoid it if possible.

Also, remember if you do go the patent route, you get to pay yearly fees as well to keep the patent active.

In order to keep a patent in-force (active/alive), maintenance fees will need to be paid. However, the first maintenance fee is not due until 3 1/2 years after the patent issues. No yearly fees.

The government fee for filing a patent application is $400-800 for an independent inventor or small company. Attorney costs can vary.

This recipe is a huge hit in our family. Great for chuck roasts

I have marinated tip roasts and put them on the grill. Cook them to medium rare. Once rested they are usually closer to medium.

You could also cut up a chuck roast and make beef stew. I have a great recipe at home. 3 hours in the oven but well worth it.

You could always do the white linen dining option at Mickey D’s in Garrison. Bring your own table cloth, silverware, and edible food. wink

We still haven’t figured out what we are going to do.

The one time we went to the Y Club we weren’t impressed but maybe we were just there on an off night. We discussed going to Brainard but it is just to far away for this occasion.

We thought this place was pretty good the few time we have been there.

    -J.

We have been there a few times too. Just called and they will not be opening the Wahkon restaurant this season.

But there’s a lot of options between Champlin and SE Mille Lacs?

The MIL lives in Onamia and has asked us to do some work around her property as her Mother’s Day gift. So, we thought we would take her out up there.

    Hacksaw Ridge was really good.

Manchester by the Sea had good acting but overall we thought it was boring. Also, the story line was never wrapped up. The movie just ended.

The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbatch was good.

I have heard that Hidden Figures and the Lego Batman movies are really good too but I haven’t seen them yet.

Putting it in a 529 college savings plan invested in mutual funds is a good option. A growth mutual fund will average ~10%/year and a 529 will keep the government hands off any gains. If they graduate college debt free they can buy their own land :).

529 college savings plan all the way. We were able to pay for my daughters first year of college with the money both sets of grandparents contributed. It has been really nice not have to stress about where the money will come from this year and it has delayed student loans for now.
