As annoying as a mayfly hatch can be, they are a true indicator species to the quality of the water conditions.

The fact that we are seeing the biggest hatches we have seen in the past 50 years is actually a sure sign that the river is the cleanest it has been in a long, long time!

We are finally doing some things right, and Mother Nature is responding well. Habit is key for all of our fish species!

A pain in the neck, but it is really good to see!

    How old are they?

    Can you send pictures?

Congratulations on the catch of a lifetime! Thank you for releasing that fish full of eggs and letting the rest of us have a crack at her sometime, or at least teasing us knowing that that girl is out there! (there might even be bigger ones)

No one would blame you for mounting such a fish, but a composite mount is a great trophy, and you have been a role model for all with the catch and release. Congratulations on your conservation practices.

Pretty cool your father-in-law was with you too!

    Way to go!
