What I do is level the gun with a torpedo usually there is a flat spot either across the rings or the base, then set the scope in the rings and place level on top of the up down torrent. Best way I’ve found that’s cheap
I start out the same but found the torrent to be untrue. Place the gun in a gun vise, level across the scope base. A small level used for string lines works best. Then if your lucky and have a lazer like I do shoot it on the wall. Look through the scope and adjust to the lazer line while keeping the gun in the vise level.
I’m going to burn up a 100 or so this weekend while breaking in the barrel. My plan is to find a 55 gr load it likes afterwards. Just wanting to hear what you guys are using. Guess I should have asked what you wouldn’t use
Pup will get better with age but for now you need to step on her back toes when she jumps on you and say NO JUMP!! You won’t be able to get to her toes all the time so use your knee to back her off and say no jump
Thanks for all your input guys. Jewel will be spending the next few weeks with Pro Trainer Kathy Swab. Kathy will get this point across . I’m not planning on any pile work until FF is complete. I’ll post her results
She just turned 3 and has couple NAHRA titles. This is round number 3 for us with same results as last year. Tried ear pinch with thumbnail, Shotgun shell, bottle cap, collar buckle, just clams up. First one I’ve seen do this. Holds great
knee to the chest when he jumps up on you. not to hard but make sure he knows you mean it.
And always use “NO”! Just that one little word once they know what it means can be used in so many different corrections. My dogs don’t even need to know I’m there and once they hear the word NO they will stop what ever it is that they were doing. Also when teaching “NO” we aren’t screaming it. Just a little above normal voice always. Nothing I hate worst then someones dog that won’t mind unless its being screamed at. If you teach by screaming then it will always be required.
So sorry Paul, I’ve been there 5 times and know exactly what you are going through. I have a 2 year old black lab female that fills my heart today but we will never forget our friends from the past.
I’ve seen happen while teaching overs. Bugging while baseball training normally comes from working 1st and 3rd base too often. Always run at least twice as many retrieves to second base when teaching overs.
I feel this is no different then a dog that jumps on ya. All my dogs use to do that. Heck they would knock over little kids while licking them and scare them to death. A few smacks on the nose with a no command and it was corrected. If I try to have them lick me they just turn their head away. Problem solved
Yeap an elevator, pigeon trap, and a 12 pack. Don’t forget the 12 pack . Trap will run around 40 bucks, 12 pack about $16, and just pick up some loose corn while at the elevator. If you can get the trap up off the ground you will have less problems with half eaten pigeons. And chain that bad boy down.
