I may have to take you up on that. Where are you located? Haha I don’t think I could do that out of respect to Dick and karma. I would have to take some notes along the way

I’m in the same boat as you bearcat, think I convinced my coworker to come up with me this weekend haha. We had a great few days of fishing. We dragged jigs down river yesterday because of the big wind at 1.3-1.5mph and crushed them. Almost every minute, probably best fishing I’ve had in a long while, or ever. Dragging upstream worked great too, but for some reason downstream must have got them going as they would jump on that jig as soon as you found bottom and lifted up to start dragging. It was extremely tough to leave at 3 pm to head home but had to work this morning. Debating on going up there next weekend to get a couple more days of that

Fished birchdale today. Lots of action like Bearcat said. Lot of smaller fish with some nicer fish mixed in. We got a fat 27 3/4” for the biggest today with a couple 25’s. Lost a big one as it popped off at the surface boat side. Would have liked to have seen that one in the net. All in all a great day with lots of cooperative fish biting minnows and plastics

We drove up today and launched out of Vidas this afternoon for a few hours. Lots of rigs almost to the highway when we pulled up at 3 pm. Caught about 40 for our group. Mostly smaller males with a 24” and 27”. Minnows caught most fish but did catch some on plastics too. The end of the ramp is fairly steep but doable. Thinking about checking birchdale out tomorrow

We will be coming next Thursday for a few days. We are staying at sportmans. Their villas look nice and the cabins are quite reasonable if you can’t find a place. They just posted 20% off your stay on Facebook too if you mention that. Can’t wait

Went out today late morning to about 2:30pm today. Windy day on the river. Spent about 45 minutes at the confluence, marked a lot of fish. Lots of boats stopping through, no fish caught. Went down river and marked some fish down river of a hole. Marked huge school of fish on shallower flat across channel from the hole but only a couple snagged rough fish and figured it was big school of rough fish. Another boat had come in around that hole and was catching some fish, probably saw them catch a dozen or more. We slid out to the main channel and found a handful of saugers and lost or missed quite a few more before we headed in. Nothing big but a couple fat 15-18”ers. Wish I could have stayed and see what the evening brought but that’s what time allowed.

Ok that makes sense. Just have to follow Ontario rules like no live bait, no alcohol, etc…. Can someone fish Ontario side with a DUI?

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering more about fishing the Canadian side of the river after having launched on MN side.

Can it be asked why no interest in Lithium? I bought 2 100ah to use for my trolling motor and in my fishhouse. If they work as well as advertised, I should be money ahead in 5 years…

Mostly the price. I’m not sure how long I will have the boat either but probably a few more years. Was looking at around $500 for both batteries. The next time I do buy batteries, will most likely be going the lithium route
