I bought a new Springfield hellcat and tried it at the same gun range only to have the optic come back and strike me after firing about 8 rounds – leaving a gash by my left eyebrow. I’m a fairly new shooter and this is unnerving. Is this common? The range told me the gun’s screws were stripped and too small but factory installed; brand new gun. Did you get any response from Springfield?
